I came here in July 2019 travelling alone around Peru. I wanted to experience the Amazon jungle but was on a reasonably tight time schedule (3 weeks) so couldn't stay for too long. I found the experience to be one of the highlights of my trip and met some great people too. I actually ended up staying for 2 nights/3 days which I would recommend as 1 night simply isn't enough. I found the experience to be authentic and our tour guide was really knowledgeable about the forest and the animals there. The whole thing feels flexible which suited me, with the guide offering us a range of activities which we could do during the mornings and afternoons. We got to complete jungle treks, swim in the river with dolphins, visit local animal sanctuary's and even visit some local tribes. I would definitely recommend this for anyone travelling to Peru who wants to see the rainforest but who might not necessarily have the time/funds to complete a longer expedition. I am a 25 year old male.

All agencies on the square offer the same tour for the same price. Our tour of Kuelap was successful and organised. We met at the office and walked a short distance to a minibus for transport to the teleferico. Our tour was mostly Peruvians, but our guide spoke a good level of Spanish. Although our bus looked a little shabby from the outside it was very comfortable and the windows opened. The lunch provided during the excursion was substantial and ready when we arrived. (we ordered before going to the Kuelap site). We were able to buy beers and the toilets were clean. The driver was very good on a twisty road.

My husband and I stayed at the Curassow lodge in February 2020. It was off season (the rising water season) so we had the lodge for just ourselves. Everything from welcoming to the last minute was just perfect. We had an amazing guide Leoncio Nina, who grew up in this area and knows everything about local plants, animals, jungle survival tips and local village people life. He was fluent in English and very friendly with us. Our guide was very good at spotting animals. We saw sloths, pygmy monkeys, capuchin monkeys, red howler monkeys, dolphins, caymans, reptiles and many birds. The lodge was very clean and the cabins felt cosy and relaxing to sleep in the middle of jungle noises. The meals were so delicious and served with love, fresh jungle fruits juices different every time, local fish. The food was a part of the jungle experience. They even cooked barracudas and piranhas that we coughed by our hands. The staff was constantly asking if we need something, and were willing to help if we just need something. After we left the lodge Leoncio helped us with the transportation to another lodge and two days later with the transportation to the airport. To conclude, IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD ON OUR VACATIONS. If you decide to book this trip, BOOK DIRECTLY FROM THEM, they are very responsive and you can easily transfer money through Western Union.

Many people who are just passing through Iquitos or are only here for a week or so would like to go out for their first contact and experience with the jungle, yet are unsure of what is available or what to expect in a tour. Others may come with specific expectations, activities or itineraries. Some people prefer sleeping in a lodge, in a constructed shelter, on our boat or with a family in the jungle or maybe a little bit of each. Our goal is to facilitate an unforgettable experience that you will want to share with all your family and friends!

This trip was easily my best experience during our visit to the Peruvian Amazon. The location of the eco-lodges is absolutely stunning, being both completely surrounded by rainforest and waterways. There is even a small and isolated village nearby where you can acquaint yourself with some of the locals. If you decide to visit the village, I recommend you try some of the locally made liquors and that you stock up for the duration of your stay. Our guide, who went by Edwin, was a wonderful person to experience the trip with. He made sure that we were well taken care of and his knowledge of the jungle and its inhabitants was extensive, to put it lightly. The rest of the staff we got acquainted with were all super friendly and always made us feel welcome. Every excursion was a trip to remember. At no point were any of us bored with the itinerary we were provided with. I do however have to point out that the included activities are not for the faint of heart, as we were constantly exposed to dangerous flora and fauna. To us however, this was what made our trips into the jungle so authentic and profound. The eco-lodges are simple, but provide you with electricity, cold showers (which is all you'll want due to the extreme heat) and shelter from mosquitoes. There is a large main hall where people get their water from, as well as where large groups gather to eat, socialize and generally have a good time. However, there is no wifi anywhere. So if that matters to you, now you know. The food was delicious. They even provided my brother with vegetarian dishes to accommodate his diet. Also, if you go fishing for piranhas they'll cook one that you've caught for you to try. Summarized; For anyone looking to experience the Amazon Rainforest at its most authentic, this is the way to do it. Though you'll have to decide for yourself if you or anyone coming with you can cope with the dangers inherent to such an expedition.

We decided to visit the Nazca Lines and Ballestas Islands on a relatively short notice. In spite of this, Derwis and Vilma took action and made all the reservations within 24 hours, and communicated with us constantly to make sure we knew what was going on at all times. The trip was well-organized and everything went according to the itinerary. Paracas, where we stayed, is a beautiful city. At night we dined at some of the restaurants by the seaside and enjoyed relaxing and pleasant views and walks. The food was superb too! Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this memorable experience! - Hannah and Juan.
