To stay on Troubridge Island is a privilege. Accomodation is in the old lighthouse keepers cottage, clean and simple. The island is a sand island, it takes under an hour at high tide to walk around. Birdwatching, fishing, sleeping and reading are the main pastimes. Very safe for children, shallow sandy beach. You are the only people on the island, clearly no shops, pack wisely. Love this place.

Volunteer Deckhands can book our "Deckie for a Day" experience and be immersed in Oyster Farming in the clean, clear, pristine waters of Oyster Bay, Stansbury on the Southern Yorke Peninsula. Learn how oysters are farmed, help with the duties on the day and be rewarded by indulging in oysters straight from the sea.
Highly recommended. This was the high point of my trip - Steve and Gerri make you feel very welcome, providing you with warm clothing for the experience which includes learning about the oyster life cycle, how they are grown and marketed, and getting your hands wet before being treated to a huge variety of fresh oysters. Includes a lesson on shucking oysters, a knife to shuck them and a dozen to take home.

Mainly dirt roads (but in good condition) to explore the area. Lots of old ruins and some buildings still in pretty good condition and the informations boards provided certainly give you a great insight into the history of the area. Easily spend a couple of hour exploring.

A must visit when in Minlaton as the history of this gentleman is so interesting and the memorial is a tribute to the people who set it up as it is really well done. A must see

We stayed at the fantastic caravan park across the road. Jetty is a great place to relax and have a swim, stingrays are in the water nearby most of the day, so just be mindful of these beautiful creatures.

We come here almost every year. It seems that the jetty gets more popular each time and not hard to see why. Just look at the ink marks all over. Squid is definitely caught here. The area has toilet facility, boat ramp and car parking all situated at the base of the remains of a lime kiln built in 1907. Length of stay here depends on how the squid are biting. We enjoy the squidding and find it relaxing especially on a lovely day. A beautiful part of the peninsula.

Beautiful lighthouse of 30 metres, it was first lit in 1882. Before leaving make sure to spot the Horizontal Pine, it's an incredible tree suspected to be a survivor or relative from trees that were planted in 1892 by the local students, and because the strong onshore winds the trees grew horizontally. Amazing force of nature and adaptation! Located on the top of the Yorke Peninsula, I'd recommend a 4WD if you are coming from the south which is a gravel road (we had a car, needless to say we drove slow, but it was worth it). The road to Corny Point township was also gravel but it was quicker.
