Many visitors to Namibia start their adventure in Windhoek, the capital and largest city of this South African country. Nama, Herero, German, Afrikaans, and British cultures have influenced the growth and development of Windhoek. Visit the statue of Hosea Kutako, a nationalist hero, in the gardens surrounding the Tintenpalast, the seat of the Namibian legislature, or chow down on ostrich kebab or zebra steak at Joe’s Beerhouse before leaving on a safari into the Namibian wilderness.

Lovely church, with a lovely architecture, both outside and inside. It's open during the week until 6 PM, during the weekend I found it closed. There was no one inside when I went, so i had a quiet time taking a few photos and absorbing it's simple beauty.

Excellent lodge!! It was part of our day tour... had lunch there ... superb food and great service. Wide spread buffet of local and western cuisine. Wine was fantastic. Took the tour of the ranch which was mind blowing. It was open safari and the guide was fantastic with very good knowledge. Was able to learn some interesting facts about giraffes and other animals. One of the Must visit places.

What a magnificent monument! Clean, well kept. The Defence Force staff on hand were extremely helpful. The Namibians are indeed a proud and wonderful people. This shines through in their dealings with tourists. Very thought provoking - highly recommended.
