Varna (Bulgarian: Варна, pronounced [ˈvarnɐ]) is the third largest city in Bulgaria and the largest city and seaside resort on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Situated strategically in the Gulf of Varna, the city has been a major economic, social and cultural centre for almost three millennia. Varna, historically known as Odessos, grew from a Thracian seaside settlement to a major seaport on the Black Sea.

The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, built in the 19th century, houses a finely carved iconostasis and bishop's throne as well as some interesting murals and stained glass.

It’s a must to visit whenever you can any Churches/Cathedrals as these will give great imagination on how rich Bulgaria is with their history and architecture. Extremely interesting place that is worth visiting if you are in Varna. The stones are natural geological formations, and are not made by human hands
