Carved into the natural sandstone cliffs, the intriguing network of underground tunnels offers visitors an unparalleled insight into life in wartime Britain in the 1940's. Visitors have the opportunity of learning about the experiences of local people during the war from the displays in the tunnels and from the state-of -the-art audio-guides and to find mementos of the 1940's in our shop.

This spectacular flight of sixteen working locks - surrounded by some beautiful wooded countryside and scenic walks - raises the canal 209 feet to reach a height of 518 feet above sea level at Marple.
We walked from Romiley by the canal seeing all kinds of nature. Fish, baby fish, ducks and ducklings, geese and goslings. Lovely to see the aqueduct stunning views, great to see the locks. Stunning views. A lovely walk.

Very interesting medieval house with a great personal audio guide with lots of interesting information. Kitchen, bedroom storerooms all set up with furniture, staircase and in places the old 1460 walls. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Museum next door is interesting too, local history and an exhibition of strawberry recording studios. Allow a couple of hours for both, museum free house £3.75 for concessions.

What a great insight into Stockports past, the staff are very friendly and helpful giving you lots of information about the dungeons, for a small place to visit it was very interesting, it is also free admission, but you can donate, Not sure about the other reviews mentioning food there is definitely no food at this site, but various food options close by, i would certainly visit again.

Petting Farm with Indoor and Outdoor Play, Bouncy Castles, Coin operated diggers and quad bikes, Horse Riding School and Tearooms with a full menu.
We spent a family day out on Reddish Vale Farm where we could see adorable domestic animals, like goats, donkey, horse, rabbit, Guinea pigs, alpaca. My son love to feed them. ???? They have a big outside playground and inside playbarn too. The ticket is on sale in a very reasonable price. The staff were very kind and helpful. Worth it every penny. ????

This is such a beautiful church and the staff were welcoming as we wandered in in late December. There was a choir who sang a carol an they told us they were singing around the town but some knew the church so did want to sing there. Beautiful

This large vintage fashion, furniture and lifestyle shop is located just outside Manchester on exit 27 or 25 of the M60. We are housed in the Grade 2 Listed Edwardian Pear Mill which is easily accessibly by car and public transport (Bus: 330 or 384). PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CAFE IS A SEPARATE BUSINESS. Look for the Giant Pear! Free parking around the mill. We've even got a vintage sewing seamstress available for tailoring needs.
We are regular visitors to the vintage tea rooms in the emporium, delighted they have reopened offering a safe take away service. The food is outstanding, amazing sausage and egg barm, the leek and potato soup is up there with the best I’ve tasted. Always fresh, hot and served quickly. We had the homemade burgers which are a new addition to the menu, amazing ???? They do great coffee and cakes too with a huge selection. Cornflake cake is one of my favourites. Great vibe, good tunes and some great vintage clothing and jewellery!! We will be back soon, thank you!
