The Baglioni family, nobles of Spello, commissioned the frescoes to both artists.]These are breathtakingly beautiful and visible close up. Some resoration work is still being carried out as the church was hit by the 2016 earthquake.

Very nice walk! We walked from Spello to Collepino, around the village, and then back (along the road on the way down from Collepino to the first fountain then back on the trail) and back to our house in the centre of town. Turned out to be 12-14 km and took us the afternoon. There's a lovely wee bar in Collepino village, perfect for a cold beer! Stunning views and well indicated. Terrain isn't very difficult except for the last 20ish mins when it's quite steep with loose gravel. Wander through olive groves, under old bridges, past the remains of a small aquaduct, with stunning panoramas spreading out to one side. It's a perfect afternoon outing from Spello! Beware that it can be quite hot as much of the walk is somewhat exposed. There are several fountains along the way for cold water.
