Sometimes called the “Portuguese Rome” for its many churches, Braga is an ancient town in northwest Portugal. Its history and livelihood are tied to Christianity dating to the 3rd century. The city’s 12th-century Sé (Cathedral) is still one of the most popular attractions. Just outside of town lies the renowned Bom Jesus de Monte pilgrimage sanctuary, with its striking Baroque stairway. After dark, the stoic town turns upside down, with a rich nightlife thanks to its many university students.

The beautiful square where the church is located was perfectly manicured and the greens and golds of the flowers complimented the external beauty of this church. Inside, the gold and baroque designs are something that must be seen. The details are impressive. The location, the design and artwork make this church one great package to visit.

A rare exemplar of civilian baroque architecture in Braga, Casa Rolão is 250 years old. It is a house full of stories and classified as a "public interest building" since 1977. It has 3 floors and a beautiful garden with a terrace. Casa Rolão merges its architectonic heritage with a contemporary concept.

These is the most Famous Avenue in Braga , not so much for the stores and restaurants but because it connects the city Center Square to the parque da Ponte where it is located the São João chapel (São João is the most famous festivity in Braga) . The top part of the avenue is walk only (no cars) with a nice garden , some nice buildings , the famous Theatro Circo and Avenida Liberdade Street Fashion. .

It's a lovely place, small but full of history. And it's so ancient! I would prefer to see the fountain with water again, I think they should put it with some water just like Conimbriga roman city.

This beautiful harmonious building is overlooked by most, I suspect. It's probably because they don't even know its name. Igreja de São Marcos, dating back to the 18th century, was the work of Carlos Amarante, who was also involved in buildings such as Bom Jesus do Monte and Populo Church. In fact, you can see some similarities between São Marcos and the church of Bom Jesus. Walk around the square and admire Amarante's work from afar and close-up.
