Thank you Bill for such an informative tour. The guns are amazing and the tunnels just blew me away - hard to believe all that is under the earth. I recommend this to everyone.

It is one of the most prominent landmark in Rottnest Island and it has great views from the top of the hill. If you are unfit, I recommend the hop-on bus. Lather plenty of sunblock, unless you plan to get a tan.

Lots of photos can be taken here, great views, great lighting. Easy to walk to or catch a bus and hop off

Very nice visit. We walked but hop on bus if i were you. Take water and wear walking shoes. Barracks now accommodation blocks so all heritage glossed over

Interestingly, everyone stops when they see this anchor. They know that something had happened with the boat. This is what happened: On February 1, 1886 Mira Flores was a heavy cargo ship. It hit the shallow reef. The crew was saved. Now we can see this anchor at the display on the Indian Ocean foreshore at Rottnest Island. I took several pictures. Worthwhile to see!

This Chapel is really lovely. I have been vacationing at Rottnest for decades and this was the first time I've seen the Chapel. This historic colonial building was built by the aboriginal prisoners according to the design of their jailer, Henry Vincent. It has a gorgeous stained glass window and pews.

The RIA has turned this beautiful old building into a classy gift shop. Very reasonable pricing, and an epic collection of island resident photographer ‘Wadjemup Dreaming’ prints, postcards, and magnets for sale.
