Brown's Field is an organic farm, café, shop and accommodation located on the Boso Peninsula, just 80km (1 hour by fast train) from Tokyo. Established in 1999 by renowned journalist and photographer Everett Kennedy Brown and his wife Deco Nakajima, chef and author of several macrobiotic cookbooks and lecturer at the Kushi Macrobiotic Academy, Brown's Field focusses on sustainable, organic farming with an emphasis on Japanese traditions. We stayed here twice and had a great time. the farm is wild and old-fashioned and rustic. the farmers are really interesting people who are also very industrious - with their cafe, Treehouse BnB, new BnB nearby, organic farm volunteers, kids camps, books writing etc. the food was all good and we loved learning how to make Miso paste - that was very special. My daughter loved learning how to make a fire to cook rice - it's like going back in time. We stayed in the barn but i look forward to stay in a treehouse there someday.
