We finally made it to a Blue Wahoos game after talking about it for the first few years we lived here... sorry it took us so long! This is a really nice ballpark... beautiful setting, right on Pensacola bay! They have a wide selection of food and drinks... wine, beer and cocktails. It was very hot, but hey, it’s Florida in July so no surprise there. We had a blast in spite of the heat. We will be regular visitors next season! It’s very family friendly, things other than watching the game for the kids if they’re not interested in the game. Can’t say enough good things about this minor league ballpark.. it’s great!

Mission San Luis was the western capital of Spanish Florida from 1656 to 1704. Today, the Mission brings the 17th century to life through costumed interpreters, reconstructed buildings, museum exhibits and archaeological demonstrations. The Mission offers special events, camps and workshops throughout the year. Great place to learn and understand Apalachee Native American history. The archaeology is well conceived and presented to lay people as well as more deeply available to trained or avid students of archaeology. The living history events are especially interesting. Place for everyone.

Visitors can take a self-guided tour of this authentic fort active during the Civil War and later used as a jail to hold the infamous American Indian chief Geronimo.
This is a wonderful place to visit at the west end of Santa Rosa Island at the Gulf Shores National Seashore, You will find this historic old fort site very interesting if you are interested in Civil War history. It is a beautiful drive to get to it along the coast with stops along the drive to enjoy views of the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola. The Fort is a very large and interesting to see what military forts were like in the Civil War era to protect the Pensacola bay/harbor.

This 80-foot tower features a giant reflector lens and is the perfect spot for weddings.
Even on a weather driven day it was beautiful to visit this historic lighthouse! It is set in a beautiful refuse filled with alligators and incredible birds. Walking trails are all around as well. And, you can put your toes in the Gulf.

Located in the Pensacola Naval Station, this is the site of the first U.S. Naval yard that was built in 1821.
We are glad that we had the chance to visit and learn more about this part of our American history! Huge complex, so allow time to go through it! If you have difficulty walking and climbing, you may not be able to see all of it though, but you can see the lower levels of it and certain buildings.

Turned our kids loose and felt safe letting them roam at night. Lots of shops and even an arcade and a famous wooden play park. Adventure rides like zip line and euro bingo jump tastefully added into existing fisher style village A lagoon meanders thru the village. Adults can frequent restaurants that turn “only over 21” at 10 pm

If you want loud nightclubs, don't come to Cape San Blas. If you want to stay in a high-rise condo, don't come here. If you want to eat overpriced seafood at a different place every night and buy a T shirt while you're there, the Cape isn't the place for you. If you like crowded beaches to check out chicks in bikinis, this is not your place. Cape San Blas offers a much slower pace. There aren't many restaurants close by, there are no high-rises, and you won't fight crowds, either on the beach or on the highway. The Cape is for families who enjoy spending time at the beach building sand castles, or maybe older couples who enjoy strolling the beach while looking for shells, or even younger couples who are done with the party scene. The beaches are beautiful, the people are friendly, and you'll find plenty to do. Just know what you are getting, and what you are not.
