Monument Aux Morts

You will get stunning photos of Constantine City and the surrounding areas from this place. Another very interesting facet that I wouldn't have noticed had I not been visiting with a local was that many of the names of the martyrs are Jewish (!). Apparently after WWII and Israel's opening, many of the large Jewish population of Constantine left the country (don't actually know if it was by their choice or not). But anyway was totally interesting. Try to time it for sunset for best photos.

Pont Sidi M’Cid

This is the biggest and most icon bridge in the City of Bridges, a short walk from the Monument Aux Mort and the Medina, corniche and the other six bridges. There's a cable car that will take you over the valley (sadly wasn't working when I went, it closed starting from mid April). The views are breathtaking from all points around the bridge.

Tiddis Roman Ruins

Reviewed By MNaija - England, United Kingdom

This site is just over 30 minutes away from Constantine by car. I paid a taxi driver to take me and hang around to take me back to Constantine. Public transport probably isn’t an option. The surrounding scenery is quite beautiful, at least it was on the sunny day in April when I visited. The ruins cover quite a large area, but there were only about twenty other people there when I visited so it was very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed waking around the hilly grounds taking in the ruins. I guess some people would feel the need for a guide or a guide book but I was content to just absorb the views. It’s probably staying the obvious but I advise sensible footwear as the terrain is quite rocky/hilly.

Mellah Slimane Footbridge

Reviewed By SirCrook - Rijeka, Croatia

Constantine, a city straddling a deep and narrow river canyon, is a city of bridges. My favourite is Slimane Mellah footbridge. On one end freely accessible, on the other connected to an elevator - or ascenseur, as they call it in French - it's one thing in Constantine that shouldn't be skipped. If you are not prone to vertigo, cross it and around the mispoint of the bridge span you'll be treated to spectacular views of the city and canyon in three directions.
