The Palacio is stunning in every way--the Moorish arches, the frothy arabesques covering the walls, the rooftop bar with unparalleled views of the bay. It’s unfortunate that on the same property a concrete multi-story box of a hotel blocks any view you might have had of the town of Cienfuegos. But don't let that deter you from visiting the pink jewel on the Punta.

Located in the historical center of Cienfuegos, declared by the UNESCO Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity in 2005, it is one of the greatest symbols of culture and identity of that province known as the Pearl of the South. It was proclaimed a National Monument on October 10, 1978. It is considered a place of obligatory visit in the city.
Delightful park with lovely benches to sit in the shade of the trees and watch the world go by! Or catch up on your emails which ever is your preference

Besides the nice architecture, this is also an art gallery, that you can visit for free. It is open until quite late in the evening.

Great way to spend your time without spending a lot of money. Take a pleasant lazy stroll past all of the gorgeous Gallic palaces to the peninsula. "La Punta" the park at the tip of the peninsula is a great place to grab a dink and enjoy the water, also open very late.

When I was in Cienfuegos, Cuba, I visited the beautiful cathedral. The architecture is very interesting. There are beautiful statues and other works of art. It's definitely worth the visit.

When our taxi driver was driving by the stadium, he pointed it out and we asked if we could stop by and take a photo in front of it. We asked a security guard if we could go inside, it wasn't "open" but he let us It was so neat to see this stadium, which is the oldest stadium in Cuba. There was an amateur team having a game, and we sat in the seats for a while and watched. The guard took a lot of pride telling us about the history of the stadium, and we enjoyed talking about how different it was to Yankee Stadium (he was excited to speak to NYers) and swap stories. Very friendly! On the way out, we stopped to use the bathrooms-this is NOT a good place to use the bathrooms, avoid if you can. Although the plumbing is poor all over Cienfuegos and Cuba, this place was probably one of the worst. We tipped the lady that showed us which stall to use (and which not to use) $1 and we tipped the security guard for allowing us in $5 even though he refused the tip, we insisted. It was a highlight for us. You'll have an easier time doing things like going into a closed ball field if you speak a little Spanish ;-)

Benny More is a local celebrity. He recorded countless albums with the RC Victor label, his image and voice were part of more than a dozen Mexican and Cuban films. Located in the middle of the Paseo del Prado in the City of Cienfuegos. A statue was cast in life-size bronze, and is very well done and life like.
