We visited during Golden Week in the morning (ticket office opens 7.30AM). Crowds not too bad. The elevator down seemed only option, we could not find the path down. Price: 110RMB incl elevator and shuttle bus. You need around 2hrs in total. Very beautiful area, worth the visit when you are in Chongqing.

Did a one-day trip to Heishan from Chongqing. Got on a van at Nanping bus station in the morning but I think the business station is about to be closed down and move to Chongqing Sigongli bus station instead. I arrived at Wansheng and caught a bus #113 in the bus station to get to the South Gate. At the ticket office, you have an option to pay for entrance ticket, cable car, sightseeing car (which save ~6km walk), and bus ticket back to the south gate or to the visitor center in the north gate. It took me around 2-3 hours inside the valley. The view is superb! You can also enjoy walking on the floating bridge between two cliffs. After that I got off at the north gate and catch a bus #106 back to the bus station in Wansheng (the bus runs until 6:40pm) and arrived safely at Chongqing Sigongli bus station. You can finish this place within one day from Chongqing.

Baidicheng or White Emperor City is an ancient temple complex located at the entrance to the Three Gorges on a hill overlooking Qutang Gorge. Beautiful buildings and lots to see. Many steps to get up there. Lovely views.

The Longshui Gorge is formed by the orogeny of thousands of years ago. It is a deep gorge and is a typical karst geological wonder. Here you can feel the fun of walking through the ground. The ground canyon is 5 kilometers long and can be viewed for about 2 kilometers. It consists of three parts: the entrance to the ground, the middle through the hole, and the outlet to the isthmus. The canyons range in depth from 200 to 500 meters, with cliffs on both sides. The virgin forests in the valley are dense, and the waterfalls are endless and magnificent. Go through the deep caves and take the direct elevator down to the ground 80 meters from the ground. The view of the elevator is clear and the waterfall is close at hand. Although it is winter, the Longshui Gorge is still a natural oxygen bar. The vegetation is lush and the trees are shaded. It is a road down the road. It takes about 2 hours to play while walking. After walking for a day's steps, I got up on the calf the next day, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Remember to relax after you come back!

This museum documents an important period of China’s history with Chongqing as the wartime capital and headquarters of the Nationalists. General Stilwell played a pivitol role on behalf of the USA government keeping both the Nationalists and Communists supplied to fight the Japanese. Chongqing was bombed on 218 days resulting in heavy losses and damage to the city. Chongqing was supplied during this period by a massive airlift from India over the mountains known as the hump. In turn defended by volunteer USA fighter pilots imbedded in the Chinese airforce. Good to be reminded of a time when USA and China worked and sacrificed together for the greater good, something which the Chongqing locals have not forgotten.
