Bintan island offers more than pleasant resorts and Guan Yin temple is a one magnificent sight that hosts unique stone sculptures and Buddhist artifacts. If you are keen to explore the island more than just a comfortable stay, you should visit this scenic temple.

The 500 Logan temple is based on Buddha and his biggest follower, the Indian ruler who gave up war, Ashoka. Up on a hill, it showcased great sculptures and idols. There was a big statue of the Hindu god, Vishnu which was wonderful seeing which we were all in awe. There was a full inscribed history of Buddha's story and the problems he faced, what teachings he spread. Reading it was fascinating and informative as I am a big history fan. The statues of the 500 Buddhist spreaders of Ashoka were beautifully made with a lot of detail and spread across the space. There is a Buddhist monastery on the top where a Buddha idol is located. This pace has a very positive aura and the monastery was full of aroma of scentic candles. It was wonderful to see the view from there and if you go to Bintan surely go to this place as it is different from the other places and also spectacular.

It was very beautiful and certainly worth a visit while in Bintan. We booked a local Grab to take us around for the day $80 for about hours and the first stop was Bintan desert. Absolutely beautiful
