Sparsely-populated beaches that give way to an ocean brimming with interesting marine life and coral gardens are just one of the reasons to visit the beautiful Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Ghandi Park, Sippighat Farm and the century-old Cellular Jail (now a pilgrimage destination) provide glimpses into the past and present of these peaceful islands with a mysterious and multicultural past.

A nice little landmark near the entrance to the jetty. I found this on the way to the jetty to board a vessel for the Ross Island and North Bay.

It costs just Rs10 to enter. There is a japanese bunker( basically a cave), 2 bomb pits , some statues of elephants and tigers , a monument and a mini-museum where there a lot of wooden figures. However, the Saw mill is the main attraction and you can see the various stages of the timber right from putting the logs in water to watching them cut it live.To be honest I was a bit worried, as it looks like a Final destination moment waiting to happen with all visitors coming quite close to the saws. We are supposed to wear helmets but no one provided one!

Dear readers, if you have read the negative reviews of / for government ferry services then kindly refer to lines ahead.... its totally wrong...government ferry is very good substitute for travelling across the Havelock and Neil Islands in Andaman trip. you can get ticket in just Rs.535 (Normal Class) and Rs.900 for First Class. can contact to agent like Mr.Gopal (Cell No. 95319-18600) who will help ypu to get the ferry ticket booked by charging commission. (its recommended because no online booking facility is available).
