Stockmann Department Store

Founded in 1862, Stockmann is the largest department store in Scandinavia. Here you can find everything you need, for example delicious food, latest fashion, design and souvenirs. The flagship of the department store chain, located in the heart of Helsinki, offers more than 50,000 square meters of shopping space across ten floors. Stockmann is famous for its wide selection of products and excellent customer service. Besides the flagship store, you can feel the Stockmann spirit at five other Stockmann department stores in Finland: Tapiola, Itis and Jumbo in the metropolitan region, as well as in two other cities, Tampere and Turku.

This is a giant mall with two sections! You have to walk through the connecting bridge to get to the main mall. There are so many shops, both American brands and Scandinavian. There are also tax free options for tourists, and you can get your refund downtown at the Stockmann. There are also many restaurant options.

This shopping center can be easily reached from Helsinki city center by metro. There are over 120 stores, tens of restaurants and cafes and other services. A new restaurant area and a 9-screen multiplex IMAX cinema Finnkino Itis were opened in autumn 2018. It was our first visit here and for the IMAX cinema. It was a stunning experience, probably the best cinema in Finland.

Mall of Tripla

Reviewed By JariJK - Kouvola, Finland

Mall of Tripla was opened in Pasila in October 2019 and it is the largest shopping center in the Nordic countries if you count shops. There are 250 shops in Mall of Tripla. (But if you are interested in area, i.e. square meters, Ideapark Lempäälä near the city of Tampere, Finland, is the largest shopping center in the Nordic countries.) Shops in Mall of Tripla include many Finnish quality brands, e.g. Iittala, Pentik, Marimekko, TRE and Gift Shop Pasila Moomin Products. There are dozens of very good cafeterias and restaurants in Mall of Tripla. They say that they have Finland's widest range of restaurants. They have many specialties in Mall of Tripla: indoor beach volleyball, an indoor "sandy beach" restaurant with palm trees, indoor surfing (flowboarding, bodyboarding), tropical indoor beach parties, saunas, Cinebox Virtual Reality, Finnish Music Hall of Fame (a music museum) etc. They also have good parking facilities and even 300 charging points for electric cars. Mall of Tripla is easily accessible. Walking distance from Helsinki main railway station is 3.5 kilometers and the walking route is quite nice (around Töölönlahti Bay, Linnanmäki Amusement Park and Alppipuisto Park). It is also possible to take a local train from Helsinki main railway station to Pasila station, which is located in the same building with Mall of Tripla. Trains to Helsinki-Vantaa airport also stop at Pasila.
