10 Shopping in Uffizi That You Shouldn't Miss

February 7, 2022 Merry Kessler

Florence is an art historian’s dream. The Galleria dell'Accademia bursts with works by Michelangelo, who is entombed within the frescoed walls of the Basilica di Santa Croce. Budding photographers can snap pics of the Ponte Vecchio bridge, and serious shoppers can spend a blissful afternoon wandering the shops of Piazza Santo Spirito. Tuscan cuisine pays homage to the region’s bounty. Swipe a hunk of crusty bread across a pool of local olive oil and you’ll be instantly transported to your happiest place.

Infinity Firenze

Infinity Firenze produces and sells high quality leather products, such as bags, belts and wallets. Bags and belts are manufactured in the workshop just behind the store by highly trained artisans. Visitors are welcome to visit the workshop and have a close look. Belts are made to fit your size and your choice of buckle. All items can be customized. The family-owned store has been in business since 1975 and is located in central Florence in an 11th century tower near the Ponte Vecchio. Infinity offers a wide selection of styles and colors and ships worldwide. Thanks to the short production chain, clients can purchase high-quality leather goods while avoiding the mark-up of industrial luxury manufacturers.

I wandered into this shop while exploring the many shops in the area. It was just wonderful! The leather goods were beautifully presented and clearly of high quality, there was soft, Baroque music (my favourite) playing and my husband and I were greeted warmly by the shop owner. She told us about the building and the handmade products, even inviting us to take a look at the work shop where someone was hard at work making a style of bag I had been admiring. After several more visits I ended up buying the very bag I had seen being made. My husband also purchased a belt which was fitted especially for him. Special souvenirs of this wonderful store and of our time in Florence.

Spezierie Palazzo Vecchio Dott.Di Massimo

Florence, since the Renaissance time, has been considered the world capital of perfumery art, thanks to "Caterina De Medici" and her famous master perfumers called "Muschiari". Dr. Giovanni Di Massimo, chemist in Florence, following an unexpected finding of some ancient recipe book manuscripts written by those perfumers of the '500, developed a growing interest for this enchanting and mysterious world. Thanks to his researches and innovations, he succeeded in giving to this old Florentine art a new life. I PROFUMI DI FIRENZE has been created, "Acque Mirabili Odorose", known and prized in the world just like the fragrances manufactured by the ancient "Muschiari", able to stimulate charming and suggestive feelings. Where the most fleeting part of our memory have gone? The one of our childhood and youth? Sometime, to find it out again, we just need "to listen" to the fresh, sweet, enchanted fragrance of "I PROFUMI DI FIRENZE".

The MASSIMO RAVINALE brand is born from decades of experience of FLORENCE TEXTYL S.A.S, a Company specialized in the production and marketing of women's, and men's clothing accessories MADE IN ITALY . Massimo Ravinale is the best place I have found in Florence to purchase silk and wool scarves. The silk comes from Como and the printing quality is excellent. The wool scarves, for both men and women, are also made in Italy. I kept going back to the store near the Uffizi Palace on Via dei Leoni (via Piazza San Firenze) and, in the end, bought eight scarves of various sizes for friends (oh, and a couple of gifts for me!). Elena, who works at the shop, is extremely helpful and very patient and is happy to show her customers all of the different colors. There are several locations of Massimo Ravinale in Florence, but I very much enjoyed Elena's help and expertise. Highly recommended.

Glenda, her father Gianni and the team of Massai Orafi have greatly contributed to our visit in Florence. They were very welcoming and friendly when we visited their shop and workplace. Their jewelery is beautifully crafted with outstanding attention for detail. They were knowledgeable and helpful and took their time to answer all of our questions. When we were back home, they provided us with regular updates on the process and delivered truly exquisite pieces. They provided us not only with beautiful jewelery but also a wonderful experience. They are definitely a reason to revisit Florence.
