Traverse City, known as a four-season playground, is now celebrated for quality cuisine, wine and culture. Miles of sugar-sand shoreline include the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore with romantic lighthouses and coastal villages. The glacier-sculpted landscape of orchards and vineyards includes 16 golf courses. Swimming, sailing, paddling, hiking and fishing are favorite warm weather activities, while winter turns the region into a playground for skiers, snowmobilers and snowshoers.

What's not to love? They have fruit, veggies, and wine and cherry products from local growers/producers, plus some "exotic," i.e. non-local things, but mostly just good seasonal produce, milk, ice cream, and baked goods. Kids love to visit the barnyard to see the animals and play with the toy tractors/animals in the toy barn. They've been doing this a long time, and I appreciate that it's just good products, not a kitschy "experience" for sale (though you can stick your head in a wooden cutout of what may be a caricaturized farmer in the parking area and take a photo if you're into that)

We did a Thai cooking class (virtually) last evening with Chef Christie and had a terrific experience. She was very engaged and approachable throughout the 1 1/2 hour class. We made a fabulous meal which we then, sat down and enjoyed virtually with daughter and SIL (they also did the class in their home). Thanks Fustini’s for putting together a wonderful event that was fun, different and brought us together during a pandemic winter evening!

Cheese Shop with over 140 cheeses from around the world. Tastings at the Cheese Counters. Samples are Free.
What an amazing assortment of delicious things and beautiful gifts and useful kitchen tools. I was so impressed by THE cheese lady and her wonderful recommendations. I won't waste my money on mediocre cheese again! They ship, too! Ten stars! Best and FRIENDLIEST cheese shop I have ever been in. Nothing snobby. Very informative and knowledgeable staff. Truly a gem.

Cigars, Pipes and a real community feel in the heart of downtown Traverse City. The only Cigar Bar in northern Michigan is now open, now featuring outdoor seating!
First time visiting a cigar bar. Nolan’s is a great place if you’ve never been to a cigar bar. They have a really nice humidor with a fantastic selection of cigars at reasonable prices. We were in Traverse City visiting our daughter. Mt wife and daughter went shopping downtown and I thought I’d give Nolan’s a try. There’s a nice little bar in a back room, tables, a few couches and a bar stool area at the front of the bar. Great place to sit and watch your favorite team while enjoying a fine cigar and your favorite libations. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

One of my favorite all time book shops. I always go at least once whenever I am in Traverse City. The selection of books, magazines, greeting cards, journals, puzzles, etc. is huge and very eclectic. They have a large area for childrens with books, stuffed animals, etc. It is always rewarding to see so many children of all ages sitting on the floor browsing through books. There is a large selection of books on nature, Michigan, and travel in general. There is a snack bar on the first floor and a cafe on the second floor. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
