Antica Masseria Venditti

Island of wine culture, owner of ancient grapes, reserve your visits and tasting.

We were recommended this lovely Vineyard by the staff at the Aquapetra resort where we were staying. We were collected from the hotel by Andrea, our host for the morning. He took us to some high points so we could look down across the Valley and the Vineyards below. We learnt about the history of his family Vineyards and also about the area itself and why it’s such a good climate for wine production. We went along to the family vineyard and learnt more about the different grape varieties and had a look around the cellar room which is very high tech! Our visit was just before the main harvest so they were busy cleaning and prepping! We then went into the dining room where we tasted 2 beautiful whites and a beautiful red alongside some outstanding food prepared by Andreas mother (I think!) We learnt so much during our trip and the food and drink was outstanding! Highly recommended if you are staying locally. I wish we could have taken more wine with us but our luggage allowance wouldn’t allow it!

Bottega Le Fornaci

Bottega "Le Fornaci" was founded in 2004 by Vincenzo Franco and it is located in the splendid "City of Foundation", "City of Ancient Ceramic Tradition" (AiCC) called Cerreto Sannita, a pearl of the Italian Baroque, in the south of Italy. The workroom and the showroom are situated in the "Palazzo S. Antonio", in the same building of the Civic Museum of the "Cerretese" Ceramics. "Le Fornaci" is one of the most well-known "botteghe" of the rich Italian ceramic production. We create artistic, traditional, experimental and author's ceramics, objects of design and furnishings of high quality. The traditional production is the result of a continuous study of materials, techniques and of the wide documents of the eighteenth-century production. Same quality and refinement can be recognized in the modern production, the evolution of the traditional one. We create it by trying out new formal languages, new techniques, using new materials and producing unusual and unexpected contaminations. The name: the furnace is one of the most important instruments of the ceramic processing, where the product lives its last moments of the creation; here, in fact, it is fired at high temperatures, before becoming a new and unique piece of the production. But the furnace is not only a mere instrument, it is the "melting pot of ideas", where inventiveness and creativity meet, fuse and mix together, giving life to new concepts, styles, passions which liven up the artist and come alive in his works.

Cantina di Solopaca

The Cantina di Solopaca is one of the oldest farmer's cooperative all over the Campania. With its production of more than 120 thousand hectrolites of wine it is set at the first places in the whole regional production. The vineyards are located in a wide area that, starting from Solopaca's territory, involves other 16 neighbouring disctricts, reaching a total planted area of about 1300 hectares. In this territory is grown the Solopaca DOC, the first wine which got the D.O.C. guarantee in 1974. The grown varieties are the Falanghina and the Aglianico, local Sannio Beneventano vines, but also the Greco and the Fiano. In recent years vineyards linked to the tradition have also been rediscovered such as the Coda di Volpe and the Barbera. Solopaca stretches at the Taburno Camposauro Regional Park foot, in the province of Benevento, in an area formerly known as Sannio, ever devoted to the winegrowing. The grown grapes are harvested by traditional methods and brought into the Cantina where, after a careful selection, are made wine and bottled. The enological center is equipped with forefront wine making and bottling tools and with a wine cellar where occurs the red wines refinement. The company i salso equipped with an autoclaves room where the sparkling wines are made. The wide selection of wines, distributed both in Italy and abroad, can meet the different types of consumption, from the daily use to the most sophisticated catering, combining the oldest tradiction and the most modern tecniques.
