I recently had the good fortune of having lunch at the Hua Qiao fish market with friends from Taiwan. All I can say is WOW. Sushi and Sashimi are among my favorite foods and I've had them around the world. The Hua Qiao fish market is the THE BEST I've ever had. So fresh and so well prepared. The tuna toro was melt in your mouth. Come here for the BEST!

My wife and run a small local hostel in Chaozhou, if you need a place to stay, look us up. Our single room is NT$550 weekdays. Our double room is NT$1050 weekdays. We hope to accommodate you. There are many attractions within driving distance, some close enough to walk to. The Chaozhou night market (潮州夜市) is a two-minute walk from our hostel. Dong Gang’s (東港) Dapeng Bay (大鵬灣) is 25 minutes away by car. Xiaoliu qiu island (小琉球) is also very near it’s just a ferry ride from Donggang harbor. Kenting National Park (墾丁國家公園) can be reached easily by car, bus or taxi. It's an hour and twenty minutes away

This night market seems to spring up suddenly in the evenings in an old town square free of traffic. Lots of stalls from game booths to food. Good place to shop for trinkets too.

It is a night marketing along Kenting Road where both sides are lined with stalls selling food, games, and small items. Traversing the night market street and sampling the nice food is sufficient for a dinner meal. But if you are thinking of eating something nice, I suggest Lu Nan Seafood which is somewhere mid of the night market. The seafood is fresh and the price is reasonable. This place is not a tourist trap, so don't expect people hustling you to come in.
