Allison The Bookman was established in 1973 by Gord and Esther Allison. Gord's dream was to have a bookstore that was much better organized than the ones of its time. Over the years, with the help of many from their family, the store has continued on through the generations and has hit its milestone 40th Anniversary with the 3rd Generation stepping in. Allison the Bookman's mission is "To provide a pleasant, rewarding experience in a family friendly atmosphere wherein our vast selections of books are the keys that open the doors of imagination, knowledge, and understanding to all who enter."

A great place to visit! The volunteers on the property are so friendly and more than willing to chat and tell you their stories about the place. We spent an hour there walking the trails and viewing the sculptures. Admission is free (they do have a donation box, with proceeds going to the Burk’s Falls foodbank and library). Plenty of free parking. Go and enjoy!!

This shopping mall is North Bay's second and largest mall. It is very accessible to Highway 11 which runs right past it on the way north and south. There are a great number of clothing, shoe, jewelry, gift stores, plus electronics, health and fitness, book stores, hair and nail salons, to mention just a few. The Walmart is a large box store which is a favourite of many. The food court is fairly extensive with enough variety to suit most palates. It is clean and bright so if you like walking, you can get a little exercise at the same time as you amble along.

The North Bay Farmers’ Market is a year round not-for-profit corporation that is completely run by vendors and volunteers. Our market provides a self-sustaining place for local farmers, producers, and artisans within a 100 kilometer radius. As such, our market promotes a healthier community through providing our residents access to locally sourced food products and artisan goods.

The Lake of Two Rivers Store has a great assortment of fresh produce and fruit, fresh and frozen meats, dairy, groceries, drinks and ice. Don't forget your Algonquin Park souvenirs too! The store also features a full range of camping and fishing supplies from the best brands in the biz. Mountain bikes are available for rental at the store. All of our bikes are mid to high end products from great brands like Specialized and Salsa, they are available in a variety of frame sizes and include a helmet in the rental rates. We also rent youth bikes and Trail-a-Bikes for the early years riders. How about a trailer for the infant or your extra gear? We rent those too! The Old Railway Bike Trail is easily accessible from the Lake of Two Rivers Store and is a great way to see the park from a new perspective!
There is a great little restaurants here, and the store stocks all kinds of things for camping. Friendly staff!
