Welcome to Bluegrass Country, the "Horse Capital of the World." But you don't have to be an avid racehorse fan to enjoy the natural beauty, culture and history that this exciting city has to offer. At the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary, for example, hiking trails wend their way through forests, meadows and gentle creeks, taking you past historic landmarks; there's even a nighttime guided walk for stargazing. The best place in the world for raising thoroughbred horses, Lexington has over 500 horse farms. The Kentucky Horse Park features films, horse shows and exhibits. Be sure to tour the American Saddle Horse Museum, dedicated to the native Kentucky breed, and watch races at the lovely Keeneland Race Course in season. Historic sites are plentiful here, including the Waveland State Historic Site, the childhood home of Mary Todd Lincoln and the Ashland estate of famed Kentucky statesman Henry Clay.

A running store with a knowledgable staff which can direct out-of-towners to a number of good running routes.
Great experience.....they have the best selection and knowledgeable staff that identify your individual needs. We randomly stopped and ended up hitting a great Gambler's sale that gave us 50% off some high quality running shoes. Also, the limiting of customers showed great responsibility and care during the virus.

Great book store to just go and chill. Especially wonderful considering the cold weather we had when we were in Lexington. Plenty of space to social distance while browsing the immense book selection. Also lived they had some local artist and a cooking section. Great place to stop with kids and just allow them to roam.

I first met Tony about 1 1/2 years ago right after we moved to Frankfort. Stopped in on a wet, cold February day and was greeted by the most wonderful aroma, coffee matured in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. Yum! I was just in today on a warm summer day and had some Iced Bourbon Barrel Coffee, the perfect pick me up for a August Saturday afternoon! Tony not only roasts and ages his coffee, but uses the barrels to make beautiful wood creations. I really love his bourbon barrel sofa. He's recently expanded and now has a very nice seating area. Stop by, get a hot or iced coffee, buy a couple of pounds of the various flavors and get to know Tony, you won't regret it!

Fantastic vintage store with unique items. Perfect for any audiophile or just for those who like vintage clothing and accessories. I walked away with two unique pairs of funky sunglasses and an awesome shiny copper jacket. Everything there was really cool to explore.

Once you’ve done the various distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, visit this place for an incredible tasting of some superb high end bourbon. Although pricey, their selection of bottles for our tasting was impressive. “Whiskey historian” Caroline was a great host. The small, private tasting room was well appointed and made form a great experience. THE highlight of our visit to Lexington.
