In Seattle you simply can’t skip the Central Public Library – a modern architectural marvel of glass grids, unusual shapes, and a “book spiral” that climbs four stories. Stroll over to Pike Place Market to visit the original Starbucks and play catch with a fishmonger. In the heart of the city lies Chihuly Garden and Glass, which will dazzle you with its colorful and delicate works. Glide to the top of the Space Needle for panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges and Puget Sound.

Archie McPhee has been a supplier of everything wonderful and weird for over 30 years. Some of our most famous products include Handerpants, the Yodelling Pickle and the Devil Duck. We have tons of strange candy, bacon products, tentacles, unicorn and action figures. While you're at the store be sure to take your picture with Mr. Bacon and visit the terrifying Wallingford Beast .

We went on a weekday and ended up being the only people on the tour (2 adults and one 8 year old kid). I never thought I would say this- but we got alll chocolate out by the end of the tour! The samples were very generous. My son enjoyed the samples and looking at the factory floor.

Fremont is a nice way to spend a day when visiting Seattle. Sunday is good with the market open year-round. Local food and goods and the vintage area in the parking garage. Lots of great shops, restaurants and coffee spots. Jive Time Records is a must if you like vinyl and the used bookstore next door is a favorite of mine. Show Pony has really nice women’s clothes with a nice price range. Not all overly expensive. This time we ate at Norm’s. Good atmosphere if you want yo watch a game and have good food and it’s dog-friendly!
