Kyoto Station Building is a train station and popular tourist spot, with a department store, The Cube selling souvenirs and fashion, Asty Road and Asty Square shopping areas, a mall, and restaurants.
A hugely impressive small city built around a large railway station, completely enveloping it. Amazing modern architecture of impressive scale and design, with a roof top garden 11 stories up, with views across the city and nearby Kyoto Tower. So many shops and cafes restaurants bakeries etc. even 5 star hotels, you could happily just spend many days here exploring and enjoying.

The Kiyomizu-Zaka Street slopes uphill to Kiyomizu Temple and is packed with shoppers looking for Japanese souvenirs and crafts, including pottery, fans, wind chimes, tea, confectionary, and snacks.
I love this street, together with Ninenzaka and Sanenzaka. There's so much to see and so much to taste. It is a good place to appreciate the culture of Kyoto all in the one place. It is also full of photoworthy places as they are streets which has preserved from eras ago. Everything gives you a taste of the old Japan. Will come back again next time.

With a 400-year-old history, Nishiki Market is a downtown covered pedestrian arcade lined with 135 open-fronted shops selling seafood, produce, souvenirs, crafts, and Japanese snacks.
A very nice place if you want to experience what it feels like to be at local Japanese market that is filled of all different kinds of street food, handcraft items, snacks etc. the market is quite huge that you won’t get it full explored with at least two to three hours, especially if you wanted to try street food at different stands, I would recommend to spare at least half day to have a general discover at this fun place! Try to avoid packed foreigners and big lineup, get there as early as possible!

Aeon Mall Kyoto has more than 65 shops selling clothing, accessories, food, and necessities, including Japanese chains Muji, Uniqlo, ABC Mart for shoes and Daiso discount store, plus restaurants.
So I went here to find souvenirs and somethings I wanted to bring back from Japan for myself. I was able to find everything here including clothing, snacks, cosmetics, skin care and more. Such a great one stop shop. The information desk is very helpful as well. That grocery store in the first floor is great for getting Japanese snacks at a good price !!!

The Cube, large center, was linked with JR Kyoto Station should be regarded as the hub of activities for visitors both local and overseas when they traveled to Kyoto. It was large and pleasant to stroll around with various shops and restaurants located on different levels linked by escalators. An amphi-theatre for holding functions was popular for tourists who took photos from all angles. Highly recommended.
