10 Shopping in Islington That You Shouldn't Miss

December 12, 2021 Darwin Bolte

The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

Loop is chock full of luscious yarn, knitting books and accessories, as well as gift items for your favorite knitter. It's conveniently located in central London, 2 minutes walk from the Business Design Centre and a short walk from Angel Underground Station, on a quaint little alley with restaurants, pubs, clothing and gift shops and, for those of you homesick Americans, a Chipotle Mexican Grill. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable.

Whitecross Street Market

Reviewed By reindeerrooster - London, United Kingdom

Total gem, such good food to be had here I can hardly list it all!! The Turkish wraps are a favourite (after having ordered one each we now usually share one as they are massive!) but the curry and salad stalls are also fantastic. Big John's donuts are also delicious, and great value compared to lesser donuts at other markets (I'm looking at you St Johns - £3 for a single donut at Maltby Street?! I don't think so!).
