Though Mumbai can feel chaotic and crowded, there are peaceful moments to be found here. Nibble a paper cone of bhelpuri while you stroll the sands of Chowpatty Beach. Then, take a short walk to Mani Bhavan, where Mahatma Gandhi once lived, strategized, and was ultimately arrested. The markets are spirited places to bargain for spices or souvenirs. Take a guided tour of Dharavi – made famous by "Slumdog Millionaire" – for an eye-opening glimpse into what Mumbai life is like for nearly a million people.

We started with one goal-provide our clients with high quality and well-priced precious and semi-precious gem stones and beads. Over the years we have diversified into Silver and Gold jewellery and today we have a wide array of gems and jewellery for you. Intricate traditional Indian designs to chic contemporary minimalistic pieces, we offer a variety to our clients. A dedicated section for men includes cuff-links, lapel pins rings and bracelets. We have gained a strong global clientele who trust the quality of the gems as well as appreciate our immaculate craftsmanship. Every customer is special and has different requirements hence we offer customised jewellery where our in-house craftsmen shapes their jewellery dream into reality. At AGC we are committed to providing quality and variety to all our clients.
I had the most amazing shopping experience at Amar Gems. I wanted to buy a gift for my mother and the staff was very professional and they took their time to explain the significance of different gemstones. I was shown some quality products, specially the Star Ruby, and was able to purchase a wonderful piece of jewelry for her. Overall very happy with my experience.

Avante Cottage Crafts is a handicrafts store in Colaba, Mumbai.
I wanted to buy earrings to take back with me as gifts--and I was lucky enough to shop here my last day in India. My taste tends to be more simple than the average earrings that are sold elsewhere. Avante had a large collection of silver earrings that were of traditional designs but not as elaborate as a found elsewhere. The price was between $10 to $20 a pair so great for gifts. The salesperson was also very nice. Very low pressure and helpful. I also like the idea that the store is a fair wage store--resourced from the artisans themselves.
