10 Shopping in Chelsea That You Shouldn't Miss

October 1, 2021 Leonarda Pillsbury

The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

The Fashion School

The Fashion School in Chelsea loves responsible fashion and creative individuals who want to change a way of thinking. We loathe mass produced fast fashion and the mess it’s making of our world, don't you? We teach sewing, fashion, fabrics and the big wonderful picture. We have over 35 years of experience at the top end of fashion and education, enabling young innovatives to design and sew using fabrics that have a traceable history. Age specific classes and workshops - from tinies to teens to grown ups. Our classes are within our high-end holistic fashion making shop selling beautiful quality fabrics that are either organic, sustainable or from a British mill or supplier. You can buy your fabrics from us, learn about its origin, then design and make something magnificent to wear knowing you are doing a good thing.

My 13 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the weeklong summer workshop "I want to be a fashion designer" and was extremely proud of the super cool top she made. I was also very impressed.....being a sewer myself, I am quite the critic! Highly recommend for both the skills and social aspect of the course. My daughter wants to do another one. High praise indeed from a teen.

Gagliardi Gallery

What we have always tried to do is to advise our clients and to offer quality art at good prices. We were repaid and supported by our collectors who continue to trust us. The gallery has remained the same as it was 30 years ago, with the same mentality, casual attitude and same goal: to please our clientèle.We are one of the oldest contemporary art galleries in London and this means that our efforts have been understood and appreciated. When we opened, we were surrounded by more than 25 galleries. After all these years, after seeing them close one by one due to their often inflated prices and businesslike attitude, we feel proud to have survived through three recessions and to see our clients returning time after time.

My husband ordered the cake from Paul on my birthday. Unfortunately, we had a issue with the cake and had to complain. They have nicest staff ever in the shop. The manager (Jam) from Bankside branch called me straight away, with unexpectedly nice manner and care. I have been a big fan of Paul for a long year. Coming from Japan, the country that obsessed with French patisserie, Paul is one of the place that I can pop in to get a bit of taste of home. Mistakes happens to every business and I believe that how they deal with the mistakes is the key to the good customer service. Thanks again for your care!

Partridges Food Market

Reviewed By vmj306 - St. Brelade, United Kingdom

Partidges is an excellent deli cum specialty food store where one can browse for ages at the top selection of ggodies on offer, from fresh delicacies to imported treats, a great selection of cheeses, things from abroad and the best of local food. There is a lovely tearoom at the back of the shop for cooler weather and a larger area outdoors where one can meet for a coffee, tea & decadent cakes or for a light lunch. A short walk away from Sloan Square u the Kings' Road, this is an easy place to find and well worth a browse and stopping in at the tearoom or outside on a nice day.
