Have you ever visited a floating fish farm? We promise a fascinating experience for anyone interested in Norway’s famous seafood. Imagine the sea boiling as 100,000 feisty trout fight over breakfast! The tour starts in what once was an old saltery, with a photographic introduction to the life of a fish. Then there’s a trip in an open boat to the floating farm, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the modern, full-scale commercial operation. You’ll gain insight into the operation through an exhibition of installations, diagrams and films. If there’s anything you’re wondering about, someone at the facility will be happy to quench your curiosity. How did do the fish get here? What do the fish eat each day? How big are they, and when will they be ready to eat? You can wander along the suspended walkways between the cages and ponder how many dinners there are in the dark depths of the tanks. Is it really true that this single farm produces more food than all the cattle farms in Argentina? Find the answers at the salmon centre whilst also getting a taste of oygarden’s interesting coastal culture and history. At the Coastal Museum you can learn about the history of resources in oygarden over the past 10,000 years. If you want to extend your stay, enjoy a ride on an ocean safari in the open sea beyond oygarden. The boat can accommodate up to 12 passengers. FACILITIES A spectacular ocean safari on a 13 seater speed boat. Cafe at the Coastal Museum serving different varieties of salmon and trout. A meeting room is available for hire at the Salmon Centre.

A Dynamic Museum for a Dynamic IndustryNorwegian Petroleum Museum is a museum for everyone. Its exhibits explain how oil and gas are created, disovered and produced, and what they are used for. The museum also provides informastion about technological advances and the way petroleum influences Norwegian society. Original objects, models, films and interactive exhibits illustrate everything from everyday life offshore to technology and dramatic incidents. The curious cat Petro serves as a guide through the museum's science centre. The museum was designed by architects Lunde & Løvseth, and is an attraction in itself. Its architecture is a scenographic interpretation of the Norwegian bedrock, the open coastal landscape and the offshore oil installations. Architechtural reviews have said that there is hardly a building in Norway which signals its function as obviously as the Norwegian Petroleum Museum. The museum was opened in 1999.
An absolut worthy venue to spend some hours if you are in Stavanger. A historical journey through the oil exploration in Norway and Scandinavia, which shows the troubled road from the very first endeavours to today modern platforms. Amazing setup, with show rooms and videos, even things you can try on your own, so live and near that you almost feel being there for real.

Come to VilVite - Bergen Science Center - to explore and enjoy science!
This was a bit pricier than we thought but then all of Norway is pricey really and overall we couldn’t have been happier with our day at the science center. My kids had so much fun exploring and trying all the exhibits and we adults had fun too. There’s a small cafe on site and a nice park across the street. It is a bit out of the way but a real gem. You won’t be disappointed

Vitensenteret is a science center where visitors are encouraged to learn through interactive exhibitions. The center is open Monday to Sunday, and here you will find exciting activities, experiments and interactive installations for the whole family. During weekends and school holidays we have a varied program, and we also organize summer schools, science clubs, birthday parties and other events. Trondheim Science Store is open all days of the week, and you can drop by without a ticket to the center.
Highly appreciated by both kids and adults. We had only two hours in the center (limited due to Covid-19) and time went by all too quickly. A must if you visit Trondheim with kids.

The Folgefonn centre opens in May 2017. Here you will find an exciting exhibition on the nature around Folgefonna glacier, the Hardangerfjord and how climate changes affect us here. Situated on the southern shore of the beautiful Hardangerfjord in Hordaland County, Folgefonna National Park boasts one of Norway's largest glaciers. In words and stunning images, our website tells you about the glacier and how ice sculpted the fjords and surrounding landscape. We'll show you great cultural attractions and scenic highlights, point out hiking trails that take you there, give details about guided glacier treks, kayaking beneath ice falls, and much more.

This is one of my favourite places to go and take visitors to Tromso. There is there an amazing Aurora video (still my favourite even after seeing it about 10 times). I love the hands on science activities that are varied and lots of fun as well as educational and informative. Best place to have fun while learning at the same time for all ages. Although many think it is more for kids I take adults and they love it too. Highly recommend.

The childrens favorite place to visit, lots of activities. DuVerden Maritime Museum + Science Centre is a vibrant venue with activities for young and old. The centre has created a link between the area's rich maritime history and future-oriented education as well as industrial development. The spectacular building houses exhibitions and installations. The objective is to stimulate interest in maritime history, science and technology through interactive communication methods - especially for children and young people. Consequently, learning through playing and experimenting is essential when visiting DuVerden. The centre has its own amphitheatre, which seats fifty people, and is used for 3D films. The weather turntable illustrates weather in a new way. Spin it as hard as you can, and a fan will produce a storm strength wind. We also have a big toy for the big boys: Our ship bridge simulator lets you control a ship and you can navigate up the river to Skien or out on to the fiord. Welcome to a great experience!
