The Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery Bandarawela, near the town of Ella, is home to over 30 Theravada Buddhist monks. From the top of their mountain they can look out at the busy world below. Anyone who makes the trek up the mountain will be rewarded with spectacular views and spectacular spiritual teachings of the Buddha. Curious people of all backgrounds are welcome.
I have been attracted to this place since I visited the first time. Leaving from a busy life for a while and staying in a "Kuti" on top of the hill, surrounded by green trees has become one of my favorites on every trip to Sri Lanka. Relaxing on the wooden floor under palm leaves roof, facing fresh air coming through the green mountains and talking about the inner peace of our lives?? simply, I am craving for it so badly..

Suranga is a great driver. He drives safely, he is very friendly, he understands English and he has great rates. There is nothing more that you need in a driver in Sri Lanka. I would definetly recommend to go with him of you can...

This has become a top spot for all tourists and locals for sunset. You will be with around 100-200 other tourists but it is a great time to walk around as it is much cooler

This place is lovely for sunset watching; enjoy the sea breeze; under the coconut trees; and nice spot for instagramable photos. The place can be crowded but enough space for anyone find the right spot to relax, chit chat and enjoy the sea view. It is walkable from Mirissa Beach or the Parrot Rock Bridge along the coastal walk, approximately 30-40 mins. Those don’t want to walk can take Tuk-Tuk along Matara Road. We love the sunset here and it was just marvellous!!!

One of the oldest buildings in the Galle Fort. It's said to have been built during the Dutch colonial era and still the structure and designs are well preserved even with the recent modifications. This building has been used for various purposes during the past. As of today, it is developed to be a shopping and dining precinct.
