Most impressive stairs up the steep hill, making visitors understand the past hurdles of trade across the region (from Konstantinople to the west by foot or donkeys/mules). Of you feel up to the challenge, you climb them. Else, enjoy the view and continue to an easier hike to Beloi viewpoint, seeing the magnitude of the Vikos gorge at it’s best.

Park down near restaurants . Walk just 100 yards back up the hill towards Skopelos a dirt road winds up to the right not suitable for cars . Nice approx half hour walk each way . Meandering through the forest on good wide track (see satellite map heading anti-clockwise about half of the trail) . Several vantage spots to see our goal a real photo opportunity called "Three trees "on the headland surrounded by turquoise sea . Deep gorge if you have passed it .Double back into the little paths in the woods as not signposted . Worth the view alone. Well recommended followed by lunch or a drink back in Agnontas . This town has a rich and long history over 6000 years, it's the town I love very much (Heroes and Demigods visiting this town and island, as Achilles and the famous Hercules; Also Poseidon has a famous myth of Kos, Poseidon the God of the Sea, he had a pursuit of the Giant Polybotes, he snipped off a land of the island with his trident to him and had kill Polybotes; - and this piece formed the neighboring island, called now Nisyros, so this isle is a part of Kos; this is the myth of Kos; - Kos town now is right wonderful, and survived throughhout centuries and has a rich character with ancient sites, nice shops, bars and restaurants. I need just to return to this lovely town

Aries Spring is a picturesque spot with a wonderful view of the village of Filoti. The stone-built spring, located under the cool shade of an age-old plane tree.
Very much enjoyed our stop here after Hiking Mount Zas. We didn't take the more difficult path down the backside of the moutain, so we had to make a seperate trip to this spring. You can drive right up to the site, though the road is very narrow on a cliff. The spring itself is very nice, fresh, cool and drinkable water. Glad we stopped here to take this in. The Catholic Chapel of Agia Pakou, dominates on the top of the Hill of Galissas. It is a very picturesque chapel that seems to be hovering amidst the colours of the sky and sea, the white and the blue while offering magnificent views to the azure Aegean Sea and the sunset.Access to the chapel is difficult through a rough path and a small flight of stairs. However the magnificent panoramic view will surely reward the visitor.
