The hotel is across from Sakaiminato JR station, about a 50min (cute) train ride from Yonago. The area has one of the largest ports known for snow crabs and all sorts of fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. Visitors enjoy the crab markets in the area and seafood restaurants on a street with the theme of comic creatures by Muzuki Shigeru, a famous cartoonist from the area. This hotel itself was amazing. It was spotless, and every details from Ikebana flower arrangement to comfortable room with all sorts of amenities made us feel welcome. For foreign travelers they had a handout in English explaining their system. This enabled the foreign guests take full advantage of what the hotel offered. The top floor had natural Onsen hot spring baths with water so soothing to the skin. All necessary amenities were prepared by the hotel. The breakfast was known for create-yourself-Chirashi sushi and all the spread at the buffet with Japanese and western foods. Again the seafood here was so fresh. What made this hotel so special was the staff. Their hospitality was genuine, and showed they care. They made us feel like we came back to a home away from home. Definitely worth the experience.

Visited here for 2 nights. It is up to most Onsen Hotel standard in Japan but no surprise except one of the dinner where the main dishes is beef which is so great. Room is huge, staff is nice, ocean view is great. The only thing that I can complain here is 1. Outdoor Onsen is very small. May fit 3 pax only with comfortable zone 2. No rest area for free milk or tea or small gold drink (except water) after onsen as most of other Onsen hotel Rest of the service is great.

This Ryokan was a great place! We stayed in room 402. We opted for dinner our room. The room had a great view, extremely clean, and comfortable. Additionally, the ryokan was accommodating with food allergies- we called ahead to ask if they can make accommodations and they did. The food was DELICIOUS!! Also, the the onsen was great! They have the public and private bath options. The location of the ryokan was convenient. We will be staying here again when we return Tottori. Thank you fo such a wonderful stay!

Bokoro Ryokan is a very nice onsen hotel in Kurayoshi. It has the only one outdoor onsen on the lake in Japan. Their onsen is very clean and nice, you can enjoy both outdoor and indoor while you stay, but the outdoor one has really nice view and peaceful feeling. Their roooms are all traditional Japanese tatami, but the bed and blanket they provide is very soft and really comfortable. The room is quite large, and have the necessities. Usually it included both dinner and breakfast, both of them are tasty and make you so full! The hotel staffs are very nice and experienced with good smile and warm welcome. The only thing of this hotel is the location, if you’re driving that’s not really matter, if you are taking public transport to the hotel, you can reserve the shuttle bus at certain times or public bus also access there if you cannot make the shuttle bus reservation. Bokoro is really a nice onsen hotel, highly recommend!!! Btw Conan manga has been drawn this at background, cool!

Loved the location and hot spring spa bathing areas but very old dated and mouldy stained carpets Food was kaiseki Japanese style so maybe half was edible by western standards but was with a 10 year old who couldn't eat it so had to rely on meat for all meals

Kasuitei proudly excavated their own onsen source and is located close to the waterfront, some 500m away from the main bus stop at Kanko Center, not too far away from public transport, but essentially retains an aloofness that patrons seek for a retreat. That was my primitive expectation but we were treated with much more! We dragged our luggage all the way from the Kanko Center bus stop and I didn’t inform the hotel of our arrival time in advance, so I wasn’t expecting a warm reception but I was really surprise by a staffs lining up readily greeting us with hearty smiles. After a brief check-in process, an English-speaking lady led us to the room, insisting to carry our luggage for us, then briefed us on the hotel facility, and offered us a free matcha reception at the hotel’s lobby lounge. She also greeted us whenever she meets us, and sees that our comfort is met. I regret didn’t ask for her name and write her a personal thank you note. Our room was on the top floor, facing Sea of Japan in the main wing. From our window, the view leaves an impression as if the hotel is right in the middle of the sea, with an endless horizon, absolutely breathtaking! Our futons are laid while we were having dinner in their common dining hall on level 2. One small incident happened shortly before we were ready for dinner, a massive power trip in the town (not just for the hotel), so I called and ask whether the dinner needed to be postponed. Upon power resumption, a gentleman whom I assumed to be their manager came to the dining hall, apologised for the inconvenience, and presented every table with a box of confectionery. I understand it wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but I’m truly impressed by their sincerity. Their tantalising cuisines truly showcase Tottori as a wonderful but vastly underrated culinary region, with nearby Sakaiminato as a major fishery port in Japan, and many more delectable cattle, poultry, vegetables and fruits all over the region. Our seafood dinner was sumptuous, artistically presented to impress the eyes in addition to the taste buds. As for onsen, the hotel has two large onsen bath, one on the ground floor of the main wing, and another on the 2nd floor of the new wing. The one in the new wing has more facilities, such as locker, mineral water, sauna, and offer a better view in their rotenburo. But as the onsen bath in the main wing is basically shut in the morning, I would suggest trying that first after checking-in. The hotel also has smaller private onsen bath rooms for rental, as well as other health and beauty facilities. Like many other Japanese ryokan, the hotel also has a gift shop, as well as a noodle restaurant. There are many more kind gestures that the hotel staffs showered us which I can’t all elaborate. In part I don’t want these to become precedence for over-demanding patrons. All I can add is, go there, enjoy the stay, the onsen, the cuisines, and be pampered like kings and queens.

Kaichoen is a very nice onsen resort, I like the traditional Japanese style. 5-min walk from central bus station, Room is spacious and clean, Food is wonderful, Service is excellent! Reception staff can communicate in English well. Onsen is not big enough (free private onsen is available, though it's quite small). Not much view from room and onsen. We will definitely go again. Recommended.
