South Dakota has good golf courses, skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, hiking, and biking among rolling prairies, pine forests, and granite mountain peaks like Mount Rushmore. Glacial lakes and Missouri River reservoir lakes provide great fishing, boating, canoeing, water skiing, and windsurfing. The whole family will enjoy this prairie land where grain growing begat roadside attractions like the Corn Palace in Mitchell. Everything made from corn, even the popcorn, tastes better here. Where buffalo roam, roadside diners serve up buffalo and luscious homemade fruit pies. Shop for good deals on cowboy boots on the same Black Hills and Badland Main Streets where cowboys and cowgirls outfit themselves. Be near the eroded buttes, spires, and prairie grasslands of Badlands National Park in Lead, Deadwood, Rapid City, Spearfish, Sturgis, Hill City, Custer, and other nearby towns. The whole family will enjoy watching for big game like bison, bighorn sheep, antelope, eagles, and hawks. Drive the one-hour Hwy 240 loop road, with a side-trip to Robert's Prairie Dog Town. Learn about the Oglala Sioux Tribe at the White River Visitor Center, which is near Wounded Knee. Tour the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site's Cold War nuclear silos, just outside the Park's boundaries. About 90 minutes west of Badlands National Park is Mount Rushmore. Lead, Deadwood, Rapid City, Spearfish, Sturgis, Hill City, Whitetail Springs, and Custer are also very near Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, and Jewel Cave National Monument. View Mount Rushmore from the aerial tramway in Keystone, which also houses the Borglum Historical Center celebrating the artist behind the sculpting of Rushmore. Take the kids to the Dinosaur Park in Rapid City. Attend Custer State Park’s Annual Buffalo Roundup and Arts Festival. Bedazzle the whole family with sparkling calcite crystals in 151-mile long Jewel Cave. Bison, pronghorn, and elk graze the grasslands of Wind Cave National Park. Central South Dakota has the state capitol, Pierre, in addition to numerous lakes along the Missouri River. Go fishing and boating in the rivers and lakes. Take the kids to the South Dakota Discovery Center and Aquarium in Pierre to see the state’s native fish. Drop by the Dacotah Prairie Museum along the James River in Aberdeen in the northeast to learn prairie history and natural history. Swing by Sioux Falls to see the USS South Dakota Battleship Memorial and special exhibits at the Old Courthouse Museum. Choose from among 10 golf courses in Sioux Falls.

Staff is a lot of fun and very helpful. We went to the downtown location and did the axe throwing, so much more fun than I thought it would be. Plus when you are done they also have bean bags, giant jenga, and other games as well.

We are South Dakota's newest escape room experience, conveniently located at Air Madness Trampoline park in Harrisburg, SD. Just 10 minutes South of Sioux Falls. We offer (3) 60 minute Hollywood themed escape room experiences, Escape Plan, Recon and opening in January 2019 Diamond Quest. Admission is $35 for adults and $25 for Kids 8-12 (Includes all taxes and fees)
Wow, wow, wow!!!!! We definitely did not expect to find an escape room brand of top tier quality outside of large cities, but then we went to Conquer Escape Rooms outside of Sioux Falls in Harrisburg, South Dakota and there it was! At the time we were there, they had two escape rooms: the Escape Plan (jail theme) and Diamond Quest (Indiana Jones-esque theme) with the third room under a revamp. Now I’ve done over 150 escape rooms across the country and both these rooms are for sure in the top 10%. Conquer Escape rates high in every basic category that you could evaluate. The puzzles are all logical and have a natural flow that provide a great overall experience. There are mental, seeking, and physical puzzles that should engage any skillset. The brand uses new generation technology that is integrated, so few to no standard low-tech locks (only used in places that would make sense in the context of the storyline). Along those same lines, the thing that separates a good room from an epic room is the immersion factor, which these rooms have in oodles. From the scenery that has a level of authentic feeling, to the actors that put you into character during the beginning of the rooms, to the tasks and puzzles that feel like you really are Indiana Jones or an escaping inmate, it was end-to-end one of the best escape room experiences ever. I would highly recommend this brand to a newbie doing their first escape room (start with Diamond Quest) to experienced escape artists, a well-built and thoughtfully designed room guarantees fun for anyone who loves puzzles! Conquer Escape was an unexpected gem worth a trip to try, it is just that good! This escape room is part of a larger entertainment venue that includes a trampoline park and laser tag, so it has something for everyone.

Live action escape games based on real Western South Dakota events. Fun, challenging and addictive, solve the clues to "escape" the rooms in 60-120 minutes... IF you can! 5 Scenarios available. Murder in Saloon #10, Haunted Deadwood Bed & Breakfast, Zombie Prairie Dogs, and WWIII-Aliens and Ellsworth AFB. Soon to be returning, Terror at Holy Terror Mine!! Each room has a different difficulty level. You can play past the time limit, we want you to succeed, but if you can finish before time is up, you can make the top 20 list on our web page!
Great experience at the WWIII room! I've been to some rooms that are nothing more than 20 padlocks that you have to open. Not here - this includes computers, lasers, black lights, multiple numeral systems, magnetic locks, and more. Very well thought out. I really appreciated that they don't kick you out at the time limit and that they don't force you to play with other people. Happy in every way with our experience.
