We had a very nice stay at Sivalai. The beachfront bungalows had an amazing view and the hotel just has the most beautiful surroundings. The staff was very friendly and especially Soon was very helpful. Good breakfast with many different items to choose from. We really enjoyed our stay - thank you so much.

Mook Lamai is the first hotel of one of Koh Mook's original and well respected families. Our family has been here for generations and will be for generations to come. Members of our family have left the island and gained our educations in other countries but we never forgot where 'home' is. We are here to stay and so consequently have a vested interest in providing the best the island has to offer. Our stylishly designed 'tropical contemporary' villas are set in a mature garden and surrounded by rose-apple, mango, cashew nut and frangipani trees. We feel we have combined a homely charm along with cool surfaces, simple, tasteful and elegant. We are intent on proving to our guests that all tours, trips and activities are of the highest quality. We intend the brand 'Mook Lamai' to be a byword for the finest in service and leisure provision. We are not a corporation, we are family owned and managed and proud of it. Welcome to Mook Lamai, we are happy to welcome you to our resort and to our island.
What this place lacks in luxury it most definitely makes up for in service! We spend four weeks in Thailand and NO ONE was as nice and friendly as the staff at Mook Lamai Resort! It is absolutely impossible to recommend this place enough! The room cleaning was done every day while we where having breakfast, leaving cut pineapple or cookies at our room. The staff also took so much care of our little daughter, making sure her stay was as nice as ours. Every room is close to the very nice pool area and the hotel has free tuk tuks to where ever you want to go on the island including the different beaches. The restaurant serves delicious food so you don’t have to go out during the warm hours around lunch time.

I've been to Kradan quite a few times in the past and always thought of this place as the luxury resort I would never be able to afford. However, I managed to get a deal on Agoda that was only £5 more a night than KBR next door, so I went for it However, If I had paid full whack, I think I would have been pretty disappointed. The room was spacious, but very dark and not as clean as it could have been. The staff were fine, I only ate here once in the evening, but the breakfast was great. Half of the room facilities given on Agoda's website were not present - so no fridge, mininbar, safe, table etc etc. The pool and sunbathing area were great and there is a family of kingfishers who live there and keep waking you up with their squawking! Of course the reason I keep coming back here is for the great off the beach snorkelling. The reef outside 7 Seas is pretty good, but can get a bit busy with day boats. Far better to turn right along the beach (head south) to Ao-Niang beach (about 15mins), where there is great snorkelling and a basic resort that meets all your needs. Best to spend the day there as you can get cut off by the tide.

Cheap accommodation next to the sea. A resort of the local people. You can learn the life of local people. And there are a variety of activities for you to do such as black fishing, snorkeling, you will certainly enjoy and happy When you stay at this resort
I stayed 7 nights here in Jan. 2022, after Thl. had suspended Test&Go (I came into Thl. just in time before in Dec 2021), so I was the only foreign traveller here, except for a Polish couple staying long term working as digital nomads. It was my second time here after I had spent 8 nights here in Jan. 2020. I arrived on a Tuesday and received warm welcoming, it was nice to be back here again and remembering. During the day 3 more Germans arrived and took a solid bungalow together near the pool. I took the bamboo bungalow A1 nearest to the waterfront to see and hear the sea. Included breakfast was oppulent during the first 2 days, coffee and tea always ready to serve oneself. During the night, though, I had to realize having Geckos in the roof making a terrible noise running and obviously fighting any time again at night waking me up. In addition I heard permanent chewing in the wall and fast trippling of some small animals on the floor. I realized there is rats finding and making their way through the wall into the hut. When ever waking up again by the noise I was occupied banging the walls in order to scare the unwanted visitors off... but no chance, I didn't find sleep. Now, on top of this I had a dogs under the hut who not only could be heard moving in and out at night but a couple of times barking, growling and fighting with another dog at very high levels of noise. In addition there is a bunch of 10 to 20 dogs on the site who regularily at night start howling all together for 10 to 15 minutes. I promise I am not exaggerating!!! But there is more to come: As the weekend comes closer... from Thursday, Friday, more and more big local families with 6 or 8 members come moving in, occupying the place completely. Those being Muslims (and most of them are) follow the call of the Muezzin from far to get up and pray at 5 o'clock in the morning....which would be a minor problem - in comparison - but from 5:30 they put the radio on playing their music ... no wonder, since they are awake. ... and I am, too. Though, over the days I got adapted to the start of the unmuzzled big boat engines of the local village people near, at about 5:30, that can be heard over a distance of many kilometers over the sea. Over the days of my staying the breakfast became smaller and smaller and coffee/tea no more readily available without asking for it. I asked Dada, the owner, to put up killing or catching rat-traps in my hut but she only declined throwing some smelly pearls, maybe poison(?) under the bed. ...but rats are not stupid, they don't disappear from one night to the other by pioson!!! I felt I was really being tough standing through all this and stay being patient and friendly. I even offered to extend my stay for a couple of days at a reduction from 500Bht to 300 Bht a night but Dada refused. So I left. Altogether, and what I have seen and compared prices and qualities on Koh Mook, I have to state: Koh Mook is heavily overprized for the quality offered in comparison to Koh Lanta and other islands. They did not hear the bell of very low international tourism these days and adapting their prizes. These entrepreneurs on Koh Mook work with undercoveredly set and agreed prices among them, these agreements reach up to Trang. What offended me most was the unfriendly owner and driver of the minivan between Trang and Koh Mook pier: for a single transfer he charges 20Bht from the locals on the boat and takes 50Bht from foreigners... they are milking the farang on a regular basis. In addition he does not give the booked ticket for the transport Mook to Trang (250Bhtm back to me, doesn't answer my question about just turns away. Also doesn't help loading/unloading the baggage on the van and needs extra pressure and motivation to bring me to my accomodation in Trang near the railway station. I suppose he also cheats his government tax office by that. Conclusion: Koh Mook is overprized, they work with secret agreements to push the prizes, already starting in Trang. And they milk the farang by charging them higher than the locals. So, beware the ferry-man and beware the smiles there.

Hi. We stayed her in March 2018 prior to a trip to Koh Ngai. We arrived and the staff lady asked to keep our passport as security for the key. Your passport is the property of your government. No person has a right to take that as security. Never give that to anyone. I compromised and allowed her to take a copy which she was not happy about. But eventally she seemed ok. We took our bags to the room which we had to do over gravel. A lovely Thai guy saw us struggling and came and grabbed them. We gave him a tip. The room was basic as. No hot water. But for the price - was absolute value. Maybe this resort has had bad experiences with foreigners. We have travelled extensively in Thailand and never had a resort that has asked to keep our passport as security for the key. If you are really worried - take a baht deposit - whatever it would cost you to replace the key. Thai resorts are required to report passport details of foreigners staying with them by law but this was not good. There is no reason to take a foreigners passport. And if you hand it over... well you are an idiot Otherwise - for the price - fine. If the front office staff could be as nice as the lovely man that grabbed our bags and helped us then this resort for the price/location could be on a winner. I think we had one of the older rooms but as I said - for the price - a bargain.
