Nice hotel with wonderful architecture in a remote desert location Negatives: 1. Far too big for location 2. No authentic food options 3. No kid separation in swimming pool observed 4. Staff knowledge of property a bit lacking esp environmental (and there expanding) Positives: 1. Beautiful location with amazing driveway 2. Fitting architecture for location 3. My family and I have been staying at the Ritz Carlton and have been taking advantage of the daily laundry service provided by the hotel. Pradeep and his team have been terrific! Without exception our clothes appear in our room immaculately cleaned and beautifully pressed.

A really disappointing experience after travelling to Abu Dhabi many times we left feeling very deflated at the standards within this hotel. To start with the room was extremely old worn and could do with a full refurb, the food in the buffet restaurant was terrible we aren’t fussy but this food is not up to standard it was cold, unaccommodating for children, flys all around at breakfast, it was so very busy no room to move. We tried this restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner before we made the decision to increase the cost of our trip and upgrade to super all inclusive who knew this even existed but yep for more money you get nice food so consider this before booking and a clean highchair (something that really annoyed me buffet restaurant high chairs weren’t cleaned in the other restaurants they came cling wrapped and freshly cleaned) the other restaurants were ok on first try but it felt like the second visit nobody really cared service was terrible pretty much everywhere apart from the steak restaurant which was lovely highly recommended this one. Everything felt too much for the staff the answer was often no without even trying to find the answer or accommodate the request. Service on the beach was particularly bad. Finished food left to be destroyed by the birds and thrown all over the beach. My biggest problem with this hotel is it is marketed as child friendly hence the reason we choose and the baby pool on the roof is covered in bird poo in the water and all round the sides which I’m my one year old was trying to touch it was revolting and so unhygienic also the smell was terrible of drains by the kids side also I was seriously concerned but the state of the pool the number of broken parts and holes when it’s for small children to use see the photos taken on our last day as this never got cleaned up for the full duration of our stay over 10 days?! the kids pool in the beach area also had issues a part of the suction in the pool had come off and almost sucked his hand straight in which could of been so dangerous the life guard one in particular with attitude was so very unhelpful and unwilling to do anything. Also the view of the building site and constant noise wasn’t very relaxing on the beach. This kind of sums up our experience and this hotel does not compare in any way to some of the neighbouring hotels which are amazing and we now realise the high standard they keep. Try Etihad towers if in doubt you won’t be disappointed. On a positive the gym was good and well equipped. Lobby coffee bar was nice and staff there were helpful.

Check-in super easy - checked our vaccination records in the lobby and checked us in no problem. They decorated the room which was really nice of them as my wife had messaged ahead that it was our anniversary. The hotel grounds, interior and general decor is absolutely stunning, probably the most luxurious looking we've ever seen. There is marble and gold literally everywhere! Equally the rooms look fantastic, however slightly on the small size (we had a Deluxe Garden View). Pool fantastic, albeit disappointingly towels on beds as soon as people wake up and it's difficult to find a spot which is disappointing particularly when travelling with a family. The beach was fantastic, the kid's pool absolutely amazing - there is a wave pool and some slides which we spent quite a lot of time there. The lifeguards were mostly in control. Some kids are terrors and found myself helping discipline some kids along with the lifeguard. At the wave pool one of the lifeguards was asleep... ?! The kid's entertainment at night fantastic, shout out to Ali who put on a dance show most nights. This is where the positives end. Some things really really disappointed me about this resort. We were told that you had no choice other than to go to the buffet night 1 - fine, can live with that. Went to book next few nights and all restaurants were fully booked. My entire stay i had to eat at the buffet restaurant. Again with 2 kids, we had to take turns and it never felt like a proper meal. The food was, to be honest, pretty sub-standard. The cuisine just felt random. A lot of Turkish food (which I've found that Rixos is Turkish), yet no one and i mean no one was eating any of it. There was nothing that I'd say was typical for British or American - pizzas, burgers etc. It was all just a bit odd so struggled with the food and again, it wasn't great. The desserts, whilst a lot of cakes literally all tasted the same. We had to endure this every night. The breakfasts were also average compared to Jumeriah quality which we'd just experienced in Dubai. In general, the service (other than the desk and concierge) was pretty poor. A couple of people couldn't understand basic English, were not the friendliest or just ignored you. The pool bar they couldn't have been any more miserable if they tried and the rollerbladers were chalk and cheese. The lady was great, smiling and very friendly, the bloke was pretty ignorant and rude. I don't normally take my time to complain but after seeing a high rating and seeing the hotel was a 5* ultra-inclusive I was massively underwhelmed. As mentioned further up we had just come from a Jumeriah experience in Dubai, staying at the Mina Al'Salam and I cannot tell you how different the experience was. That felt like a proper 5*, unfortunately, this didn't. That's the second time I've stayed at a Rixos (previously on the Palm in Dubai) and it's certainly the last - the standard of a Jumeriah is a cut above. All in all some good bits but enough to put me off ever staying at a Rixos again :( Oh and final point.... make sure you bring enough sun cream.... I bought a spray from the shop and I nearly had a heart attack. £30!!!!! Literally daylight robbery.

The Hotel was nice what I loved is the balcony is awesome have fan and light with sofa ? do you can enjoy the night. The washroom have everything from toothpaste and more Loved they had espresso machine and the beach as well, but in Jun 22 the beach had some grass? What I dislike there’s no good swimming pool maximum depth is 1.4m only !!! The available swimming pools as good for young and kids.

Prompt chk in.Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely arabic design welcoming room with crsip linen, good views, modern amenities in those rooms which hav been renovated. The "butler" servce offered nothing xtra as othr hotel with a butler does for example tea/coffee, pressing servce, etc. Staff call it the 2nd 7 Star hotel in UAE, officially its 5star. I found the general atmosphere abit cold but perhaps that could hav been afforded to there not being any families with kids around as well so evrything seemed quite formal
