We stayed here for a family double celebration for 3N/4D. The booking was swift for us, Ms. Arvee from the reservation answered all my inquiries and catered to our special request for the set-up of the twin boys birthday (it really made us feel extra special). CHECK-IN: fast and well coordinated. We are given welcome drinks and cold towels to freshen up. HOTEL: Garden paradise, it is well kept. (though, expect lots of nature loving creature around you since it is a very lush garden inspired resort). POOL: Warm water and very clean. With kiddie pool 2ft thne main pool of up to 4ft. There's a deep pool as well of 7ft. RESTAURANTS: Food is quite good, must try 5 Cheese Pizza and Mozzarella Sticks. Kuddos to the staff who always give in to my off-menu request like the Cherry Margarita and Calamansi Shake. Shout out to the best staff Mr. Michael who knows my favorite drink already =) ROOM: Big enough for the entire family, and mu kids aren't the average cuties =) SERVICE: Really good, all the staffs are friendly and are willing to help as much as they could, good job to Jas of front office and Jojo as well. who always ask us as how our day was. PROS; Great for a family getaway, they have a lot of services to offer. Sports like kayaking, table tennis, badminton and lots more. They also have in-house Spa you can enjoy after a tiring day on the island. CONS: Wi-fi mostly is weak around the resort, i think this is something they should work on. Mobile Network on limited on the resort, close to non inside the room in Deluxe area. Insects, expected since it is in a greeny lush area so please bring your insect repellants especially to those with little ones like us.

Busuanga Bay Lodge, Palawan Resort is part of the integrated resort enclave in Busuanga, Coron, Palawan called Puerto del Sol. We are located in the southwestern part of Busuanga Island, in northern Palawan. You can easily escape from the pressures of city living by a 45-minute flight from key hubs like Manila, Cebu, and Davao - or by an even shorter flight from the provincial capital of Puerto Princesa. Busuanga is rich in biodiversity, and so the resort was envisioned to promote and support such a beautiful natural community. The Bermuda-inspired architecture and the name of our boutique getaway are from the developer's desire to initially create a fishing retreat. However, this activity is only one of many that Busuanga has to offer. Renewable energy and sustainable design are among the key thrusts in the development. Indeed, we have created an oasis in this semi-remote part of Busuanga Island in Palawan by ensuring that guests can enjoy all the modern conveniences onsite as well as have the easiest access to luxury adventures in the area's on-land and underwater attractions. Inside the resort, guests will be pampered with luxurious Spa Services and offered an extensive wine selection from the in-house Wine Cellar.
I must say that this hotel is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. everything is perfect.location.diving club. Food. View on the sea. But above all mister Joaquin Daquila and Ms Nicha Salado are both absolutely great people : They understand the meaning of customers ; they smile all the time ; they care about everything. The director and the owner of this hotel should be proud and happy to have people like this in their team. They both desserve a quick promotion and salary increase. Regards Christian Robin .

Our family of 20 booked a full accommodation with tours from May 9 to 12,2017. We loved the hotel, the big two bedroom and the people are extra courteous and friendly. The only thing that we are.sad and alarmed about is bec 80% of us got sick. Right after our tour we got tummy ache and LBM. Were suspecting the food or drink they served us during the tour. Too bad, it was almost perfect if the hotel can only take control of.what the tour will serve to their respective guests. May this be a lesson to travelers. This is a.very serious matter. Until now.some.of us are.still suffering from it.

Busuanga island is made up of two towns. Coron in the east, and Busuanga in the west. It is the biggest island in the Calamianes group of islands, located north of Palawan. Busuanga is known for its dive sites, limestone islands, strings of white beach islands, water falls, lakes, virgin forests, and wildlife nature reserve. It may be the lesser known town but it encompasses most of the sites of interest in the area. It is pristine, exotic, and uncrowded. Estancia is a Spanish word for ranch, estate or farm. It is another loose translation of a place to stay or inn. This is the perfect word that the owners felt to name their vacation home, as it is all of these. La Estancia Busuanga sits on a private farm and estate, 30 minutes boat rides from nearby barrios of Salvacion, Panlaitan, and New Busuanga. It is a place not known to many except for a few select friends and family of the owners. This is their vacation home where they enjoy entertaining friends and family, which they opened in 2015 to welcome groups/individuals wanting to escape from the hustle-and-bustle of the city and enjoy nature at its best.
Our 7-day experience here is beyond words. I love how the resort is situated in a quiet part of the island away from the hustle and bustle of Coron Town. Felt like we were in paradise as every corner of the resort is a gem on its own. Their Pier has a lounge area where guests could hang out. After such a tiring day spent travelling, we spent our first night stargazing here. The view here is so picturesque esp with the lights off as you can see the stars so clearly with the silhouette of mountains and sea surrounding you. Our room was superb as well. Perfect for big groups who'd still want a sense of privacy but still stay together as it’s built adjacently, well thought of! Although wifi was unstable, there were lots of activities available to do around the resort to keep us busy. We went kayaking to explore the nearby mangroves and beach. Booked a tour to explore several islands nearby including the beautiful Black Island. This one's our favorite as it is so raw yet still beautiful. Crystal clear waters, white sand, a huge cave to explore. La Estancia was kind to arrange a lunch for us during the tour. Food here is sumptuous. Even the food back at resort's resto was great and the menu, well thought of. Food is reasonably priced considering the quality and serving size of the food we have tried. La Estancia is a place for those who prefer a quiet vacation away from the noise and crowd. With their staff's exceptional service, we felt taken care of. Will definitely recommend!

Modern Filipino vibe. Love the color and details in the hotel. Reception area and pool are really good looking. Wooden masks all over the wall is interesting. Rooms are clean and fresh. Love the layout. The room can accommodate 4 people. Hotel is not yet 100 percent functional. And there’s no free towel in the pool area.

Prior to starting this review, i read some previous reviews, and i have to say, most of the negative ones are either without foundation completely, or were written by overly pretentious people. It's island accommodation, it's cheap by western standards, yet some people seem to expect 5 star luxury for $40 -$50 a night ? Please, be serious people ! In any case, we booked a 3 week stay at KokosNuss, and our positive opinion of the place started before we even checked in ! Applied for the S-Pass twice before leaving Australia, the 2nd time being immediately before boarding our flight to Manila. Was rejected both times, reason unknown. On arrival in Manila, it was supposed to be a few hours in a hotel then a morning flight to Coron, but we still didn't have an S-Pass, and i was at a loss as to what to do. As a last resort, and out of desperation, i messaged KokosNuss to tell them of the issue. Keep in mind that by this time, it was around 11.30pm. Luckily for us, Alma was the one who responded, and assured us that she would get it sorted on our behalf, and she said to check our S-Pass account by 6.30am. Sure enough, when i checked at around 6.30, the S-Pass was approved. Alma was an absolute angel and our saving grace. Staying up to nearly midnight to help us out ! I/We can't speak highly enough of Alma, and she is the epitome of true customer service. After a stressful night with the S-Pass situation, we finally arrived at KokosNuss the next morning, and were greeted by really friendly staff. We were shown to our room, with staff taking our suitcases and backpacks for us which was nice of them. The room itself was quite nice, with a big bed, and the bathroom was a tastefully decorated room, separate to the bedroom. One of the first things we needed was a good shower, and while the water wasn't hot, and the pressure wasn't great, it did the job for sure. We sat down for dinner that first night, and when our ordered meals arrived, i was gobsmacked by the serving sizes. I've travelled extensively around Asia (and the rest of the world) and nowhere have i been, particularly in Asia, where the serving sizes are a huge as at kokosNuss. Eateries/Cafes/Restaurants around Asia typically have serving sizes akin to what the locals would eat themselves, and as we know, Westerners/Europeans tend to eat bigger meals than Asian people, so you tend to order more to compensate. No need at KokosNuss, the meals are massive ! (and the range is good) Not only are they massive in serving size, they are all freshly prepared and cooked, hence why some reviews mention having to wait a while for your order. To have a freshly prepared and cooked meal, I’m quite happy to wait that little bit longer. In terms of value, the meals are really well priced, especially considering that you won’t finish any of the meals still feeling hungry. The next morning (our first full morning at KokosNuss) we ventured downstairs to the Al Fresco meals area for breakfast, and I mentioned to Alma about the water pressure in the room, and she moved us to a bigger family room upstairs. For breakfast, we had a pot of freshly brewed coffee and plate sized Banana Pancakes. Both of which were really good. While having breakfast, a little Filipino girl, all of 3 years old, started chatting to us in near perfect English. She told us her name, and was proud to tell us what the colour of things were, how many siblings she had and their names etc. A very chatty and smart little girl for her age. It turns out that she is Alma’s daughter. Over the course of our stay, we saw the little girl every morning at breakfast, and every night at dinner. When one of us wasn’t there, she would ask where the other one was. Such was how used to us she became as she got to know us. Interacting with her was one of the highlights of our stay for sure. Aside from Alma, and the owner Bhaves, all other staff were really nice people and looked after us well. Always friendly and smiling, and making sure we had what we needed. True Filipino hospitality is how I would describe it. All in all, I’d rate KokosNuss a solid 3.5 star across the board. Like I said earlier, KokosNuss accommodation is basic but perfectly fine, so please don’t go there expecting everything to be 5 star or beyond. The food is excellent, as is the staff, the well maintained pools were really enjoyable on the super hot days, and it’s a very easy 10 min walk into town. The only 2 suggestions I could make would be that they look into how to get water pressure to the showers, and consider re-introducing the ability to settle bills by EFT. Apart from those 2 minute things, we really enjoyed our stay at KokosNuss, and can’t wait to go back !

Back to 100% after Typhoon Haiyan. An Island resort and dive center on its own island just 5 minutes from Coron Town. Tranquil location with individual rustic cottages and modern lodge rooms. All rooms en-suite. Warm hospitality and good food. Ideal for island hoppers and divers. Private Coron Island Tours operated from the resort to show you the best and most beautiful spots that Coron has to offer at your own pace. With one of the most experienced dive centers in Coron, come dive Corons wrecks, lakes or coral reefs with Discovery Divers from our resort. Kayaking, seafaris around Calamianes Islands are also available.
Catching a small boat over to the hotel on a small island set up our stay nicely. Even though it is in sight of Coron it felt like a remote tropical island. The staff mostly did a good job; service was friendly and quick. The rooms are basic but big, clean, and watching the sunset out the front was a great ending for a busy day. The restaurant had a mostly western menu with comparable prices to other restaurants in Coron. There was no hot water in the shower. There where no mosquito nets over the beds. There was rubbish in the mangroves that would have been so easy to pick up (and while we where there we did). Plastic outdoor furniture has a cheap feel and it could be replaced with bamboo to fit the surroundings.

Sophia's Garden Resort is 40 minutes away from the Busuanga airport and 15 minutes apart from Coron Town. Sophia's has a Spanish type inspired designs. That made the resort special with its 8 deluxe rooms, El Comidor Sophia and bar, a multicolored swimming pool with Jacuzzi, a magnificent El Jardin Sophia and Souvenir Shop. To experience the elegance of Coron, an exclusive place to stay and personalized service visit Sophia's Garden Resort in Coron Palawan.
Sophia's Garden Resort has had his best time, disapointing, restaurant not advisible. Usual lack of maintenance and interesse. The are expending now, so building activities! Coron itself has not much to do exept for wrack-diving,but we went north of the island for dugong- diving, wich is expensive. In coron town the four of us chartered a boat directly in the harbour and did a tour for a dayin our tempo and our interteresse, wich was fun.You pay the boat for the day and extra for each stop you make. Or simply take a tricicle to town for php 50 per person or 100 for te whole tricicle, fun

We stayed in this resort because we wanted to try the “honeymoon villa” for our 1 night stay in coron before leaving for Manila. Reviews said that the regular rooms were awful but the honeymoon villa was the best out of the choices. In the evening one of the staff turned off the “breaker” of our air conditioning unit so we woke up feeling hot and called a staff member for help. They didn’t even know how to use the remote and we fixed the problem ourselves by turning the aircon back on again. The following morning at about 9am we smelled intense burning and smoke entering our villa and someone was burning leaves outside? We asked them to put out the fire when we found out that we could see the fire from outside (photos attached). And lastly, when we checked in the night before Gelo at the front desk coordinated that we had a flight at 12:25pm and said that our van service would be there to pick us up at 10-10:30am to bring us to the airport. At 10:40 there was no one knocking at our villa, we went to the front desk and they told us they had no record of our leaving. They were about to put us on a tricycle at our own account in the sweltering heat for a 1 hour journey to the airport until the daughter of the owner (Khadine the namesake of the hotel) intervened and had us dropped with her personal car and driver for free. All of these inconveniences could have been avoided if this hotel just stepped up their game and they are serious offenses! AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!

Accommodation includes a free daily breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. The property can arrange return transfers by vehicle and boat from the airport or Coron.
I stayed at Iris Island in early March - this is a great time to visit as the weather is very good and mosquitoes negligible. I had a very hard 6 months at work, and in some senses several hard years really, and I was looking for a place that was off the beaten track and would allow me to get back in touch with my old self. The island really provided the perfect place to do this and I would highly recommend it to people who are looking for an authentic experience. Jana and Frank have invested much in this place and its spirit of contemplative renewal and unique character are "5 star" in nature even if the actual "physical" rating might be lower.... if you are after the 5-star air conditioned ultra-modern resort, this may not be for you, but for most people who actually appreciate an authentic and down to earth experience in a unique natural environment (with what I think is one of the best reefs in the area, perfect for snorkeling!) then this might be for you.
