Known for its beer, sausages, Oktoberfest and lederhosen, Bavaria is Germany’s largest federal state and one of its most popular tourist destinations. It's also one of the most independent-minded regions. Home to cities like Munich (the capital) and Nuremberg, Bavaria is also cherished for its hilly countryside, where such gorgeous sites as Hohenschwangau Castle, Neuschwanstein Castle (the model for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland) and Linderhof and HerrenChiemsee Palaces can be found.

Located in front of a wonderful alpine panorama directly at the Staufenpark and only a few minutes' walk from the center of Oberstaufen, the Lindner Parkhotel & Spa spoils its guests in an extravagant, exclusive ambience. Stylish, modern design and the rustic cosiness of the Allgäu foothills of the Alps have been combined here with great attention to detail and the region. Zeitgeist, tradition and closeness to nature go hand in hand everywhere in the Lindner Parkhotel & Spa. Whether wonderful rituals in the mountain meadow spa, beauty, health, sports or activity programs, demanding golf stays or the first-class spa and gourmet cuisine: With the Lindner Parkhotel & Spa you can go on an enjoyable expedition with all five senses at any time and experience the Allgäu as a unique natural landscape, powerful source of energy, natural wellness specialists, culinary delights and last but not least as an attitude to life!
We stayed at Lindner for 3 nights in march 22. We really enjoyed this hotel. They were greeted friendly and checked in quickly. The food at the hotel restaurant is pricey but it was delicious. We really enjoyed the hotel bar, it is very comfortable to sit there and the cocktails and drinks are really yummy. We can also recommend the spa area. Amazing saunas! I really liked the interior of the hotel. It's also just a short walk into town. Great location. Buffet breakfast was good, there's something for everyone I reckon. One thing I didn't like was the stuffy air in our room. We left the window open at night so we have fresh air but it was still stuffy and too warm for my liking. All in all I can recommend staying here for short weekend getaway ?

We stayed in the castle themed part of this complex. Facilities are fairly basic but clean and the themed decoration is great for kids. Very well organised reception, and good easy start for visiting the theme park. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Only minor point us the large canteen breakfast room is not very cosy.

Blending harmoniously into its natural environs, Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden lies 1,000 metres (3,281 feet) above sea level on Eckerbichl. Views of the Alps stretch in every direction, with Mount Watzmann striking an impressive pose. Lake Koenigssee, the historic Dokumentation Obersalzberg and the city of Salzburg are a short drive away.
We had wanted to visit Kempinski Berchtesgaden for a number of years but we saved the trip until this year especially for our 10 year anniversary and it did not disappoint!! The customer service was 5* from start to finish. Anything that we wanted help with from airport transfers to car hire, to bus routes, the staff were always so helpful and friendly. I have a severe nut/peanut allergy and all of the bar and restaurant staff were incredibly accommodating and reassuring and even knew which room I was staying in which was very impressive. There was nothing that the staff at Kempinski Berchtesgaden couldn’t do for us. We were welcomed with a smile and all of the staff were so polite and happy to be at work (who wouldn’t in such a beautiful setting and hotel?!) The hotel/spa and hotel grounds were unbelievably beautiful. We stayed in a Mountain View Room, we have stayed in many luxurious places but the view from our room has got to be one of the best that we have ever seen. As we first entered our spacious and immaculately clean room, it had rose petals scattered in the bath and on our bed as we had told them about our anniversary and a gorgeous mousse dessert on the side for us. The food and drink was excellent. The breakfast buffet had a wide spread of choice from cereals to fruit and yoghurts to salmon, sausages, bacon and eggs. Plenty of juices and smoothies and a wide choice of tea and coffee available too. We ate at the Bergstüberl restaurant where we were served meat, fish and vegetables on a hot stove in a cosy and rustic atmosphere. Again, the food was outstanding. We will never forget this trip and our experience at Kempinski Berchtesgaden - especially as my partner also proposed to me at the beautiful site of Lake Konigssee (only about 5 miles away) We would love to visit again in the future and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Special mentions to Hanna, Julia, Natalia and all of the bar staff at the Lobby Lounge and Kaminbar, and the lovely lady on the desk who welcomed us every morning at breakfast. Thank you for making our stay the best. Until next time… Chloe and Jack.

In the warm season the ideal Golf and Wellness Hotel with its own tennis court. In Winter situated directly on the cross-country skiing track and for alpine skiers the first lift is just opposite. Lots of hotels advertise Golf but here you find a "real" founder golf hotel with less than a par 5 to the first tee-off. The Spa and Wellness oasis in Toskana style is completely new and lavishly planned. To radiate tradition and be modernly spoilt: welcome to the first hotel here.
Spend 3 days at the Hotel Ludwig Royal in Oberstaufen with our family of 6. Overall, we were quite happy with our stay. Highlights were definitely the wellness and pool area, which made for relaxing afternoons and early evenings! The rooms were functional and cozy, with a set aside bed they easily accommodate 3 persons. The food was ok - some dishes (the Schnitzel / Schweine Steak) were really good. Some dishes did not quite keep what they promised (e.g. the Kaiserschmarren was a cake / vanilla ice morphed into mango ice) but overall good quality. A bit of a downside was the construction going on in the hotel - with the fitness club being refurbished. Once that is finished it will add to the offer of the hotel. Overall - very good stay. We would come again.

Was a fantastic stay here. The breakfast is perfect and tasty. The Spa is also great and full relax after a day working. The French restaurant petit plaisir is excellent and with great choices. Only one complaine I have…. I arrived at 13 and must wait until 15 to be ready the room and they don’t invite to this time for a welcome drink …. We must go in the city to find a bar.

We came in a roundtrip in Bavaria for 2 nights in this hotel.our presented room was very dark small and stinky...we accepted an upgrade for 50 euro pro night see side room...the TV was out of use...so we changed to other room ...but the bad was really very very bad..it is the smallest shower ever...with broken floor...disgusting...the Balkon was not clean.. we visited the restaurant for dinner...it was a disappointment...expensive and not tasty... This hotel is away from everything...you must drive at least 10 min.to reach something...Isolation pure.. Never again...not to recommend.it is like an old and sick lady ... The stuff is very overloaded...and unlucky...

I, my wife and our 4 years old daughter stayed in this hotel for 6 days in August. We stayed in a family suite, not very large, but enough for a family with only one child. This doesn’t include one of the bathrooms which was very small and uncomfortable. The furniture and the painting of the room were worn out, quick refurbishment being a must. The room and the public areas were very clean and well maintained. Concerning the hotel buffet restaurant – breakfast was pretty good although repetitive, but the dinner was close to a disaster. Just a few dishes, not very tasty at all. Very far from a 4 star hotel requirements. We couldn’t resist more than 2 dinners there. That’s why we had two times dinner at Zum Heuringen, the Austrian restaurant in the same building, and one time at the Maximilian and Furstenhof hotels. Huge improvements in the quality of food and even service. We advise everybody to reserve dinners at these restaurants and to avoid the hotel restaurant in the evening. The hotel is not at all orientated to the foreign tourists, all around the hotel all the written information is only in the German language and even most of the personnel not being very good at English (and I mean even front desk personnel). Good kids club although most of them didn’t speak English. Not entertainment at all provided during the evenings. The outdoor swimming poll was pretty crowded in the afternoon, and that’s why we used it mainly after 5.30 pm when most of the guests were preparing for the dinner. Speaking about Bad Griesbach Therme, it’s a small resort with a few hotels, suited for old people looking for treatment and for golf players, the resort and the surroundings having not very much to offer for other types of tourists. The bicycle routes are most of them parallel with roadways and all you can see during bike riding are cornfields. If you want to walk, in about 15 minutes you can make a complete tour of Bad Griesbach Therme ….Nordic walking is also near cornfields… Although not being very expensive, for a 4 star superior hotel, Das Ludwig should offer much more.
