A recently restored farmhouse which combines healthy rural simplicity with comfortable hospitality, surrounded by delightful countryside and green pastures between Palermo, Agrigento and the unique coastline of Cefalu. The farm is organically run, and also rears sheep and cows. The farm, with a scenic view of the valleys, has 25 rooms with bathrooms, furnished in an Arte Povera style, with air conditioning, heating, safe, minibar, television, hairdryer and telephone and 5 apartments with kitchenettes. Adults and children can relax in the agriturismo's 2 swimming pools, while the riding school offers horseback excursions. The pastoral farm, dairy farm and fruit and vegetable orchards and gardens provide produce for the restaurant's traditional rural dishes, which guests can learn how to recreate in the farm's cookery courses. The farm produces and sells typical regional produce, such as traditional Sicilian cheeses, preserves and organic tomato sauce.A perfect location for those who want to experience a region rich in culture and natural beauty, which spans from the crystal sea of Cefalu to the inland countryside, from the sandy coast of Agrigento to the volcanic summit of Etna, from the Madonie Regional Natural Park to the Monti Sicani nature reserve, and the fascinating Palermo with its history of past civilisations such as the Valley of the Temples. At Villa Dafne, guests can enjoy horse riding, hiking, and a holiday surrounded by nature, wonderful food and wine and the utmost relaxation.
Nice quiet place except weekends its somewhat more lively. Very good food and a lot of it from their own farm - except the breakfast is somewhat dull or just very italian and sweet. The staff in general do not speak english very well - but they do their best and or try to find someone who can. Some covid restrictions,no cooking class or pizza! - should be visible on homepage we might have chosen another place if we had know . Otherwise nice place, roads on inland sicily sucks :) - it takes a while to drive and see places, dont go here if you have no car or are scared of small mountain roads The surroundings are very beautiful if the place should develop itself. Go there if you want nice and quiet natural surroundings and great food. It could be cool if they had better internet - it really was sporadic at best. They should prioritize more things to do locally like cooking class etc - it could be done outside for example, having mountainbikes … Anyways great place recommended

Spacious halls, a quiet reading room and a light-filled veranda overlooking the garden, we have facilities to suit every taste and every requirement. Our individual and perfectly appointed guestrooms offer delightful views of the vineyards, the hills and the olive groves surrounding the estate. Our “charme” guestrooms are intimate and cosy, while our “superior” suites are larger and offer a private balcony or direct access to our gardens. All guestrooms are fully equipped with air conditioning and heating, minibar, in-room safe box, hair-drier and complimentary Wi-Fi.
We stayed one night in this beautiful place before returning to cramped Palermo! Really in the middle of nowhere but what beautiful views! We enjoyed it very much. Functional check-in and check out. Nice family room, tastefully furnished and with a very large bathroom. Ancient furniture all around the nice common premisses. Excellent pool and beautiful surroundings. Perfectly clean. We had dinner there and the food was fine. Not too much choice but sufficient. Excellent wine. Good service. Breakfast was also good: varied:fruit, ham, cheese, boiled eggs and all sorts of sweet items, and a nice waiter serving guests at the buffet because of Covid . We would have liked to be given some information about the winery at check in, but nothing was offered. This place deserves an excellent rating.

We spent one night here while walking across the National Park. It was the best hotel we stayed in. The staff are extremely friendly - they could not have been kinder and gave us masses of help with our trip, before, during and even after our visit. Our dinner was simply excellent (and very good value) and the breakfast was great too (superb pastries, delicious jams, etc). Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with good pillows and beds, and spotlessly clean. The hotel is beautifully situated with fine views from the terrace, and it has a lovely traditional atmosphere. We would definitely go back, maybe next time to try the pool (it wasn't warm enough to swim the night we arrived).

Placed in the heart of Madonie Mountain, 600 meters above sea level, a few kilometers from the village of Pollina in the province of Palermo, only 12 Km from the municipalities of Castelbuono and Cefalu and 10 km from the highway to Palermo-Catania-Messina. Renovated with taste in respect of rural tradition, renowned for its homely comforts and exceptional standards of care, “Casale Margherita” will captivate you with its catering and hospitality. Our bedrooms are very comfortable, with balconies and windows overlooking the surrounding countryside, with views of the Aeolian Islands and of the characteristic village of Pollina.
What a great place, a little gem in the mountaines with a lovely view on the town of Pollina. They make fantastic food and I got true Sicilian hospitality by Julia and Maria. I felt so very welcome, I would definately return here and can recommend Casale Margherita to anyone!

Antique guarding tower from the XIV century. 4 Rooms and one suite, inside and outdoor restaurant basicly with biological food. Nine hectars of green ground at disposition of the clients who like silence, relax and slow food.
A charming hotel with the most incredible, kind and generous hosts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. It’s been a number of years since I’ve been back but I dream of the day I can sit in that beautiful outdoor dining area again.

Agriturismo Al Poggetto stands on the hills, surrounded by ancient olive trees and wonderful grapevines, at only 22 kilometres from Palermo. The building has been restored, and offers refined and spacious rooms in a familiar and friendly ambiance.Al Poggetto is a destination for an unforgettable holiday far from city chaos, to establish contact with a still uncontaminated nature.
We arrived at Al Poggetto at night and after a long trip. We were welcomed by Lucrezia who we later got to know as the lovely person who runs this Agriturismo with so much passion and dedication to make it perfect for the guests. The country house was built by Lucrezia's and Giulia's nonno as a holiday house for the family. It's surrounded by olive and fruit trees, and vineyards. The only sounds are the chirping birds and a gentle bark from some of the friendliest dogs. We loved taking a real rest, eating well for breakfast, lunch and dinner and thinking about nothing for it was all thought of and made ready! A real dolce far'niente. If it's during meals, Franco takes care of it, makes the kids smile and tries to speak in any of French, German, English and where he cannot find the word... his native Italian of course! If you love nature, take a walk around the hills. If you want to just relax by the pool, do a some laps and eat watermelon... you're in the right place. And then it's so close to Monreale you can just take a short trip there just to see the Duomo and eat a pizza! And if you're with kids Al Poggetto is safe and a little adventure they'll talk about for ever. We are missing it already.

italianofarmhouse surrounded by greenery within the Madonie natural park, 1 km and 600 from the sanctuary of Gibilmanna, 15 km from the beautiful beaches of Cefalù, 4 km and 500 from Gratteri and 6 km from Isnello. We have ten rooms with private bathrooms and a restaurant with excellent home cooking Typical. The style of the structure is rustic, rural and essential. we are creating a literary and artistic farm, a place to promote well-being and self-care. In the rooms they are present books in several languages, we organize writing and reading workshops, theatrical and poetic festivals, yoga, dance, music, meditation and art therapy seminars.
We booked a three night stay here in mid September, wish we hadn’t! It is located off the beaten track in the beautiful Madonie nature reserve, high in the mountains, a great area of Sicily to explore but unfortunately our stay at this place soured the whole experience. The agriturismo itself is very unkempt and badly managed, there was piles of old furniture and mattresses, etc dumped behind our chalet room, the whole place place seemed rather sad and neglected, broken chairs scattered around upside down and so forth. Our chalet type room was very cold, dark and damp even though it was quite warm outdoors. The bed covers felt damp as did our clothes making it very uncomfortable. I asked the woman who ran the place if she could switch the heating on for us but she refused to do so saying she would bring us an electric heater instead (which never materialised). We decided to eat at the agriturismo the first night, the food was plentiful but rather bland and unappetising. The breakfast offering was very feeble and consisted of one cup of warm coffee, one slice of stale Melba toast each and rice crispy cereals. There was a woman, Maria, running the place single handed who didn’t speak any English which made communications difficult. The description of the place on Expedia said it was family run with multi lingual staff, this was a blatant lie as we only saw Maria on the premises the whole three days. The description also boasted an outdoor swimming pool but it appeared to be covered over and not in use. You will definitely need a car if staying here as it is several kilometres to the nearest town/village. It is a good 45 minutes drive down to Cefalù, quite a nice drive down the winding mountain road during daylight hours but not to be recommended after dark. We have stayed in several agriturismos and hotels in Sicily that have been wonderful but this one simply didn’t live up to our expectations and is definitely one to avoid. We were in such a rush to leave on our last morning that my husband left behind a couple of belongings in the wardrobe. We contacted the owner to ask if she could post them to our UK address, we assured her we would pay her for it and she agreed to do so..... that was 6 weeks ago and they still haven’t bothered to send them. As we were driving around the area we spotted several other agriturismos which looked great, my advice is...... don’t book this one!

Lago Verde was once a simple healthy farmland which has now been transformed into a comfortable lodging. Surrounded by green pasture and beautiful countryside, this recently constructed place makes use of local stone, wood, old style ceramics, and wrought iron to hark back to the old times.
This place is probably one of the better lodging in an area without too much choice. It is not immediately visible from the road and a gate must be opened to give you access. We were there at the end of the season and it was very quiet, the pool needed a cleaning and things looked a bit tired. However, the owners were kind and immediately had the pool cleared. There is a nice view from the pool deck. Only Italian was spoken and only a few things from the menu available. But what was there was very tasty and generously and rapidly served. Recommend the local antipasti and both veal and vegetable carpaccio. The breakfast was served and both sumptuous and tasty. Rooms are rather small, Dark and kind of baroque style but Everything works and is in good order. Had it not been for the food and friendly Italian speaking hosts I would probably have rated the place average but stomach tells me Good.

I'm very spoiled when it comes to travel and this place met all my expectations. Away from the crowds, beautiful modern rooms and surroundings and the couple who own the place are amazing hosts. The food deserves a Michelin star. I wouldn't hesitate to book this place a must when visiting Sicily.

The organic Agriturismo 'La Manna di Zabbra' is situated in a part of the Madonie National Park, which is one of the most beautiful natural parks in Italy. Our property of 14 hectares is about 15 minutes away from the beach (Valtur). Into the month of March you can view the snow-capped peaks of the highest mountains of the Madonie (skiing area). In a mere 20 minutes you can reach the idyllic town of Cefalu, while the stunning and multicultural capital Palermo is an hour's drive away. The Trattoria is surrounded by olive trees, orange-, tangerine-, and lemon trees and many kinds of fruit trees. Above the Trattoria you will find a little lake with perch and waterfowls. The landscape is characterized by ash trees, which in the months of July and August are producing a precious product, the manna. The manna, along with our special cuisine, is the soul of our Azienda and gave our farm its name. The vegetable production takes place right in front of the Trattoria. You can see where the food that we serve was grown! As a natural product the precious manna in 2002 was included in the list of the Slow Food Presidium. We appreciate the ethics of the Slow Food Presidium and implement them.
Words cannot capture the allure of La Manna di Zabbra. On a recent drive to the Madonie Mountains from our annual vacation spot in Cefalu, my mother and I stumbled upon this agriturismo just around lunchtime. Hungry and curious, we inquired with a sweet woman busy whirling around in the kitchen. She invited us to be her guest on the patio out front, which holds magnificent views of the farm property and the gorgeous Madonie Mountains in the distance. She proceeded to create an epic 10-course lunch for us, featuring freshly made cheese, zucchini three ways, delicious sausage, fresh pasta, and more. Valerio, the farm owner and proprietor of this agriturismo, was as kind as he was knowledgable. As he served our meal, he explained the production and locality of each ingredient involved, including the manna grown right across the street that was served as the cherry on top at the conclusion of our gastronomic journey. Whether you are looking to connect with Sicily’s inextricable agrarian identity or just to enjoy the most magnificent lunch prepared from farm-to-table, you absolutely must visit Valerio at La Manna di Zabbra on your next trip to the north of Sicily.
