Sadly onsite onsen was destroyed by fire just days before we arrived. Other wise - brilliant service, support and advice from team, good breakfast and dinner, comfortable cabin/villa. The worst thing I can think of ... toast maker was very slow during breakfast...but we soldiered on.

This was a dream !!! Amazing home , amazing people !! We were a little lost getting any room food but I guess you have to advance pay or something but we weren't concerned it's a nice stroll to a family Mart for snacks and an amazing quiet beach. We snorkeled with their equipment and then they gave us ice cream and fruit. Genuinely amazing staff and they don't speak English but we loved them for trying to help us with whatever they could and we be back again.

A family run ski lodge in beautiful Hakuba, Japan. Powder skiing, caring service & great value. Rooms for groups, couples, singles & families. Come visit us!
Steve and his team create a seamless Hakuba experience at the Snowlines lodge. The lodge has a small bar for guests and comfortable sittings areas to relax in front of the fire, comfortable rooms, onsen, lodge shuttle bus to the ski hills in the morning and 3 local evening meals per week. The lodge were very helpful in booking local restaurants, our transfer from Narita airport and luggage transfer and storage after our stay. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again when visiting Hakuba.

We actually loved everything about this place - very convenient location, big and comfortable rooms, excellent service and lovely staff running the place. Initially we planned to stay 3 nights but we felt so comfortable that we have prolonged our stay to 5 nights. We took an option with a breakfast and it has been a great choice, especially when you in rush to hit the slopes first time in the morning. Don’t hesitate to book it and enjoy!

This is a very interesting place to stay. It is a winery with a small chapel on site along with lovely gardens, two pools and an onsen. I suspect it dates to 1989 and it was planned in better times as certain facilities were closed when I visited. However, that should not discourage readers from going. I was just surprised when I visited to see how expansive the resort it. 8 minutes drive from Fukue Port, this is a place worth visiting. Staff were very nice upon check-in, room was clean and well furnished with misc amenities. The Japanese Restaurant (Bara - a posh Izakaya) is great with super cheerful staff. Breakfast is massive and a meal for the day (choose the Japanese option vs the Western one). A nice touch is they have your name card on the the table when you arrive in the morning. Wine tasting was fun and the NZ winemaker was patient with my basic questions. The outdoor onsen is wonderful also. It is a special place that could and should market itself better. Unique Property and one worth visiting. Super aware of COVID-19 also. Overtime, I entered a restaurant or the Onsen, my temperature was checked and I had to sanitize my hands.

We are travelling around Japan with my family and I was looking for some out of the way unique places to stay. This ranch was perfect!!! The ranch provides basic comfortable accommodation.... our package also included a BBQ dinner and breakfast so it was exceptional value. Dinner was a traditional Japanese BBQ that you cook on one of the hotplates. The food provided was delicious and we certainly went to bed with full bellies! Breakfast was also lovely. For meals we could choose set times so the restaurant could prepare hot delicious food for us. As I said the rooms are basic... this is not a posh upmarket hotel, it is a real ranch with an authentic rustic style. We loved it. Our room has a toilet but the bathhouse is a shared facility.... it is a traditional Japanese bathhouse with a common change area, shower room and hot bath. After a great nights sleep we sat on the veranda while our three teenagers headed off for an hours ride. Peter and his staff were exceptional with the kids and very patient with my daughter who was frightened. I can not speak highly enough of the staff and Peter who were very hospitable, making sure we were comfortable and happy. Thanks for a great stay.... only problem was one night was not long enough!

The hirugano Highland is at an altitude of 900 meters, on the south side of Mt. Haku, Japan's famous mountain. It's convenient for sightseeing in Hida Takayama, Shirakawa-go and Gujo-Hachiman. Skiing, snowboarding , rafting , golf and tennis can also play outdoor sports. *Please come by car.
I was attracted by the woody Scandinavian look from hotel photos. And it was exactly how it when we arrived. We had the loft cottage and our kids (13 and 10) were overjoyed with the choice. The loft immediately became their sanctuary and they were totally at home with their own floor. It's a very comfortable space for our family of 4. There is a kitchenette which would have been really useful if we had stayed longer. It is very clean and self sufficient. Take note that the hotel is about 30-40mins drive away from Gujo Hachiman city center, so you would want to explore the city before you drive up to the hotel. Also note that if you will need to make a reservation for their dinner or BBQ at your cottage (this is not mentioned in their english website). However right outside the hotel, there are a few eateries (Italian and Chinese) and there is also a convenience store right round the corner so you will not be left with no dinner if you arrive late. But the Italian food we had was nothing to shout about, so please plan well before your arrival. If you relish a quiet vacation base away from the touristy traps (eg Takayama), you can easily use Gujo as a base to travel up to Shirakawago or to Takayama. There will be people who prefer the buzz at Takayama but we found Gujo absolutely peaceful and wished we had more time in this place

This is a very nice place, with a wide variety of cottages to choose from, camp sites, and amazing outdoor playground. Adults and kids can definitely enjoy their stay here. We've visited a couple of times, and liked the dining cottage best! The cottage didn't have a big space, but we could slide the sink counter to the terrace, and that was awesome! We could enjoy our dinner and breakfast at the terrace, while the kids run around the small yard. This is definitely a place we would go to once or twice a year. Haven't stayed yet during winter, but it's lovely in summer and autumn!

I write down the reason why I love this camp site below. ・We had been there for the first time in March and we surprised at great view of lake with do BBQ. ・Very comfortable cause there are a few people there.
