Alaska is divided into five regions: far north, interior, southwest, south central, and inside passage. Although it takes a long time to see the entire state, you can travel through the regions by boat, car, bus, or plane. Hike through the mountains, or venture out on a deep sea fishing or whale watching excursion. Get in touch with nature by camping in the wilderness, or experience your preferred degree of class and luxury in the beautiful, active cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks.

The Cottonwood Lodge is located in Gustavus, a small coastal community, approximately 50 air miles west of Juneau, Alaska. This remote city within the Tongass National Forrest is bordered by the waters of Icy Strait and Glacier Bay National Park & Reserve. We offer individual cabins built in private settings on ten acres of spruce, pine, and cottonwood trees. The meadow on this property has a variety of wild flowers and berry bushes. This is prime habitat for birds and moose of which there are almost daily sightings.
We stayed at Cottonwood during our trip to Glacier Bay. Our room was very comfortable, had everything we needed. Our host Frank picked us up at the airport. He has bikes available to get around the town of Gustavus, so we pedaled down the street to the cafe.

We stayed for 3 nights and we agree with previous reviews - very comfortable, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and in beautiful surroundings. We had a wonderful stay; we could not ask for anything more. One thing to note is that the new bed they recently put in (which is very comfortable) is high off the floor and is fine for most people, but might pose a problem for people with limited mobility.

We booked this thru Delta, not that it matters. If you have been to Alaska you no the problem with phone service,so we were unable to get a hold of the property bye phone. We located the cabins but were not sure where to check in . After 3 or 4 trips up and down the road we final found a home at the end of the road that I guess is where the owners live. The man that came out of the house said we were in cabin #3, so back down the road we go.We find the cabin and decided to check it out before hauling the luggage down to the cabin. When we went in the cabin we checked out the bedroom first. Good thing. The only way to get 2 people in the bed was someone was going to have to crawl over the other person in bed.Not good if someone on the wrong side of the bed has to go to the restroom in the middle of the night. Well much to our dismay, we pulled back the bed cover, no sheets . They had a mattress cover but no sheets. No cover sheet ,no bottom sheet. Sorry not for me. I have no idea who last sleep under the bed cover. if this was not bad enough, there is no phone service. May not have made a difference but we were having to stay in contact because of the hurricane in Florida. After driving all day was not looking forward to having to drive 10 or 15 miles to town to eat. If you are looking for a camping spot then this would be okay. Have tried to contact the owner 3 times but no response., if the owners will not contact you ,you know what you are getting. Sorry can use some work.

Skagway Bungalows consists of two log cabins nestled in the forest. GREAT location close to town, yet peaceful and relaxing.
After a mishap on the Klondike Trail we stayed at the Skagway Bungalows. We couldn't have asked for a more accomidating and comfortable stay. The room included a bed, futon, full sized bathroom, and a sink area with coffee, tea, hot coco , tea kettle and mini fridge.

I have stayed at the bed and breakfast many times over the years ( 10 or more). Nancy has always been the best host I have ever I encountered anywhere in the world I have traveled. She offered my sister and I coats and boots for a snow machine tour she had nothing to to do with, so we were were sure to be warm in 0 degree temps! Your privacy is very respected and everything is just a short call away. Internet and sat tv may or not be available because of the location but most of the time it was. This is the place to disconnect and think about your life choices. It's not 5 star downtown Anchorage, It' much better!!

Our lodge is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. We are located right on Tolsona Lake and have fishing right from our shoreline. We also have a full restaurant and bar to serve your food and beverage needs. For those looking for something fun to do we offer karaoke every Saturday as well. Our lounge also offers a wildlife display of a variety of Alaskan animals. Come see what makes us special.
Lovely people and a fantastic location. The staff were very accomodating and cooked lovely meals for breakfast, interacting with them and the locals was a definite highlight of the stay. The rooms are as they appear in the photo, quaint, but practical. Unfortunately during our short stay the water had a very unpleasant sulphur smell which made showering quite the experience. The general setting and views over the lake are absolutely fantastic, and can be conveniently appreciated while seated at the bar.

I am a local photographer and was looking for a nice location do so a session. The owners were extremely accommodating and very down to earth. The Boat Cabin was gorgeously decorated with a private deck and an ocean view. (we saw sea lions!!!!) Becca let us walk around and utilize the beach access. It was very clean, comfortable, and nice. I only rented it for the day but was very tempted to take a nap in that comfortable bed!

This property offers nice one bedroom cabins in a quiet setting overlooking the golf course. The cabins have a small kitchen and a fold out bed so that up to 4 people can stay in one. This is a great alternative to a hotel and at a competitive price.

Waterfront cabins at affordable rates. Each cabin features full kitchen, freezer, smoker, crab pot and comes with 16" Lund Skiif with 25-30 hp Honda outboard for a self-guided fishing adventure. Located 10 minutes from Thorne Bay and 10 minutes from world-class fishing these cabins are great for any size group, from 2 to 30.
