I’m not really into fishing, but having seen so many experiences on TV, I vowed to try and hook a Barramundi once in my lifetime. I’d spent some time in the Northern Territory and most of the Barra’ catching options were multi-day sea adventures at a lot of dollars. When going back to Cairns for the second time in 2020, I discovered this tour. “Guaranteed Catch” I was advised because it was at a fish farm. So that’s why it interested me. Also because I didn’t have to lug home a giant fish after spending a week in Cairns. It started slowly and I felt I wasn’t going to catch anything other than a lot of sunburn. But after a change to a smaller lure, I managed to snag several Barra in quick time. Even though I had hoped to get a big Barra’ at over a metre, the few that I caught and reeled in at about 45-50cm in length put up a ferocious fight which was so rewarding. The lunch stop in Port Douglas was a nice end to the day. Great value experience.

Even tho the weather was a overcast and a little drizzly on our day tour we still thoroughly enjoyed our day and visit to the Daintree area. Our guide was Darryl who was very informative and kept us entertained the whole day! The tour provided us with a great overview of the area for our first visit to this part of Australia. We would highly recommend this tour to first timers to the area.
