Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and a UNESCO world heritage site, is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas and one of the most populous cities in the Caribbean. The city is a mix of old world charm and modern Latin flair. Its medieval palaces and fortresses mix with nightlife and shopping to rival any modern city in the world. You'll find pristine beaches and hidden gems like a salsa/merengue club set inside a huge underground cave.

Join your host Rossy and learn to cook 2-3 traditional Dominican dishes such as sancocho and platano frito (fried plantains) in her cozy kitchen. You can expect to cook for about 1-2 hours before enjoying the meal with Rossy at her dining table. Rossy mixes up the menu so you can get anything from asopao (a rice-based soup), mangu (mashed plantains), arroz con pollo (one-pot chicken and rice), habichuelas (beans) and platano frito (fried plantains). End the meal with homemade dulce de leche or dulce de coco and coffee. Rossy is passionate about nature, people, reading, photography, art, dance, and growing orchids. She loves being a host and teaching other people about Dominican culture and the country's cuisine. Since restaurants in the city rarely have Dominican food, Rossy loves to serve it to her guests to introduce them to the delicious local dishes!
Inclusions: Private cooking class + meal with your host Rossy, Beverages, All taxes, fees and handling charges, Gratuities, Dinner, Alcoholic Beverages
Exclusions: Hotel pickup and drop-off
Rossy and her husband were the sweetest couple. Rossy greeted us with homemade hot chocolate from cacao beans from their farm. We then made sancocho, rice and a coconut dessert. one of the husband and boyfriend came and enjoyed visiting with Rossy husband while we cooked. It was a wonderful meal and only wished we had more time with them to learn more. Rossy did say that she would send us recipes, but it would be great to have the recipes pre printed so that we could take home with us as a souvenir. This is definitely one of the high lights of Santo Domingo

Let me just say, that i have done ATV tours many times, in DR, Mexico, etc... when i say - this one is different - i mean it! Ride along the beautiful beach under coconut palms... enjoy fresh air - not dust, stop for a swim at a private beach, visit local villagers. Try local food. Learn about Coconut oil making along the way... and i even bought a real machete from a local shop. 3.5 hours of pure riding - even my two teenage sons were satisfied. Great tour guides who were there to answer questions along the way. Under 1 hour ride from most hotels in a comfortable bus. Well worth the time and money spent. Recommendations - wear long pants - engines can get pretty hot and your calfs will feel it. Cover back of your neck with bandana - it will get burned. Observe how locals dress - they know best. Sunscreen for your face and arms and ears. Sunglasses. And make sure you bring cash for your guides and for shopping. Fresh marakuya juice and crab empanadas purchased from locals were a very nice snack. Highly recommend. Dima and Rustam - your guides are the best!

Phenomenal tour! We saw the Tres Ojos, the Presidential Palace, Christopher Colombia final Reston place, Zonia Colonia...and so much more. It was a private tour with just my daughter and myself. Our guide provided water, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes. Masks were on at all time. He answered every question and gave us tips on negotiating with vendors. Phenomenal!

You have to be up by 6:30am for your driver to pick you up from hotel but it is well worth it. Pedro was an awesome driver. Be sure to bring gratuity,it’s the only thing that’s not included as the host (workers) will be taking beautiful pics, selling fresh coconuts n pineapples as well as massages. (They work for small tips) Lunch was good enough for me but I would advise one to eat before leaving. You could ask for as much food as you like when getting the lunch that’s included. Good vibes and great time!!! We will definitely be going back again soon.
