This was by far the best tour we took while in Costa Rica, thanks to our incredible guide, Jorge. Jorge planned a day like no other for us. He was kind, humorous, polite, respectful, fun, and quite knowledgeable. We experienced the best of Costa Rica, truly la pura vida!!!! We saw gorgeous waterfalls, unique birds and animals, and other amazing flora and fauna. We enjoyed comfortable, well paced hiking, an exhilarating waterslide, thrilling ziplines, soothing thermal pools, marvelous rejuvenating mud, delicious food and so much more!!!! Jorge also played some great music and is truly a rock and roll aficionado. Jorge treated us like rock stars and with our sincere gratitude for his efforts, we enjoyed a tour of a lifetime. We highly recommend this tour, especially with Jorge. He is SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!

A private "one bubble tour" with a seasoned guide is the best way to make the most of your time in Monteverde. It provides flexibility of timing, duration, and trail choice. This option is great for anyone who would like a more personal touch than a standard group tour. Also great for families with children! We offer a flat rate for your private guide, meaning it will be the same price for your one-social-bubble group of 1-8 people. A great value!
Inclusions: Private guide fee
Exclusions: Please bring your own reusable bottle for refilling., Entrance fees ($15-35 USDpp, payable directly at trails), Transportation not included - please use your own vehicle or a taxi
We took a half day tour with our guide Marcos of the main Monteverde park. We appreciated the flexibility in choosing which park we wanted to visit. Marcos was an excellent guide (great English): he was knowledgeable about a variety of topics, ranging from Costa Rican history, rainforest fauna and local wildlife. As a bonus, we managed to spot the elusive Quetzal bird!

why To Add Monteverde To Your Bucket List ? The Monteverde Cloud Forest, a cool misty forest shrouded in greenery, has a truly majestic quality about it. Without a beach or volcano, it’s an easy destination to overlook, despite all its charismatic nuances. I confess I did. But now that I’ve walked through cloud 9, I’m hooked. And I feel compelled to set the record straight. I. Love. Monteverde. And I’m convinced you will too. Walk into an enveloping cool mist over mossy trails through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. This is a must. Cross hanging bridges and discover the interconnected web of the forest and wildlife. The reserve is also a wonderland for birding. The rare Resplendent Quetzal can be found in these forests. We saw three! The vegetation in the cloud forest is especially captivating because so much of it can only be found in this cool, tropical climate.

The six hour tour only took two. The dept of health had closed down the city due to a COVID outbreak. Everything was closed. Can’t really blame the operator. Probably also went faster because there were just the two of us.

Johnny was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about animals (especially birds), and has a fantastic eye for spotting them. We enjoyed the walk a lot, even though it was raining a little bit. He also has very reasonable prices for a private tour compared to a lot of other providers.

Tony met us at our hotel for a private tour of Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve. We learned about the national parks vs preserves, beehives in root systems, found a tarantula den, identified hummingbirds, other birds, and waited patiently for the (endangered) Resplendent Quetzal. We’d missed them in our previous tour, unfortunately. This time, with Tony’s knowledge of the area and the birds’ habits, as well as some luck (can’t control wild birds!) we watched as the female returned to the nest to swap out incubating the egg. We watched and listened to their communication and flights. Tony had a great scope and took lots of photos/videos through it for us. We were even lucky enough to spot a tayra run across our path! The hike was only mildly strenuous at one point, trying to get to a different tree they had been trying to build a new nest in. We asked a lot of questions, and Tony could answer them all. Thanks!!

It's an undeniable fact that I don't write reviews - ONLY in in case when I'm really fascinated by the experience. And this journey with Costa Rica DMC was one of that very rare occasion. I took a 8 pax group ( mostly friends) to Costa Rica from Europe in 2021 April - despite of the fact of the cancellation/PCR testing risk of covid. I guess I don't have to mention that the preparation took a long long time - many people with different wishes and different concerns. It took me a month to agree with all the terms - during this 30 days more than! 90+ emails were exchanged with the Tour Operator. Irene Azofeifa, our account manager was super patient. She could actually satisfy all our needs ... and changed the itinerary multiple times due to the moving focus ( ppl were dropping out from the team, new were coming in, new flight had to be chosen ...etc.). And on top of all she surprised the team - she was waiting for us outside at the airport to welcome us and to accompany us to our first accommodation :) We even received covid kits from her ( small bag, disinfectant, masks, map, etc..) we appreciated it a lot! So I have a 5+ rate to communication, support and also very quick response time. And about the journey - it was literally the dream we dreamed about. Literally everything was taken place in the very same order and with the same quality we agreed on. We travelled through the whole country in 16D/17N tailor made and personalized joinery - for a very affordable price (this was the very best pick in the market I can assure you about). From San Jose to Tortuguero and then Puerto Viejo, then to Arenal Mountain (rappel) , Monteverde ( zipline) and finally to Tamarindo. And also a BIG thank you goes to Alejandro to our guide and driver who stayed with us for the whole tour. He was super prepared and could always figure our our needs. Beside being a good driver he was a professional guide who knew EVERYTHING about the nature and the wildlife. He almost became our friend :) From all perspective I would give a 5+ to this Company. And for sure if I return ( which is highly probable) I will travel with them again! You should not hesitate to choose this Tour Operator - Definitely and literally the BEST! :)
