The Baytown Umbrella Alley is occupied with colorful umbrellas that swing back and forth in a whimsical limbo, casting dancing shadows along the alley walls and ground. The Lee College Art Department is working on the mural that wraps around the walls that focus on the ecology of Baytown. Come take a selfie and share with #iHeartBaytown!
Umbrella Alley is located in downtown Baytown. It's actually a fairly nice area. I knew about the Umbrella Alley, but I didn't know of all the cool Texas artwork drawn by the students of Lee College. The pictures of Texas, Alligators and Raccoons are neat. I highly recommend this free attraction.

More than 26 million visitors each year seek the dynamic & fine shopping environment uniquely offered by The Galleria, Texas’ largest shopping center and fourth largest domain nationally. International guests and Houstonians blend seamlessly in the center while on shopping excursions or entertaining guests at one of the signature eateries. Spanning 2.4 million square feet of space, housing 400 fine stores and restaurants, two high-rise hotels, and three office towers, The Galleria is Houston’s most popular retail and tourist destination, meeting every style and taste.
This is the epicenter of shopping, walking and people watching in Houston. From great shopping, high end art galleries to ice skating, the Galleria is a great place to see and visit. Due to its popularity, the parking lots fill up quickly, especially in the holiday season. Get there as early as you can and preferably right before it opens to get a good parking spot. The Metro bus# 82 goes east and west by the Galleria and connects to many other bus lines around Houston. This is a must see and visit place in Houston and I highly recommend it,

Galveston Historical Foundation brought ELISSA, an 1877 square-rigged iron barque, from a scrapyard in Piraeus Harbor, Greece to Galveston to begin restoration work in 1978. By 1982, GHF staff and volunteers completed restoration and transformed this rare, historic vessel into a floating museum that would actively sail. Today, the 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA is one of only three ships of her kind in the world to still actively sail and welcomes over 40,000 visitors annually. She also serves as the Official Tall Ship of Texas, a National Historic Landmark and a symbol of the Gulf Coast’s historic beginnings as a seaport and active waterfront. The 1877 ELISSA welcomes visitors at the Texas Seaport Museum. Experiences Galveston’s maritime history daily.
We love history and especially old ships. This one didn’t disappoint. Great self guided tour on main level and below deck. Also fun to see the docks with other ships.

The Water Wall, near the Galleria, offers a respite from commerce. Sit under the spray on a hot day, or people watch and take pictures.
Very cool spot for a unique Houston photo, we've been there several times. There's always folks sharing the space with you, but everyone generally gets along. Close enough to the Nordstrom parking garage to walk over, I'd avoid parking on the street (but I've seen folks do it). Dress up, dress down, doesn't matter....I've seen guys in tuxes and gals in shorts. Get out and enjoy Houston ????

You can find these tree sculptures throughout homes in Galveston Texas. These pieces of beautiful art are made from trees that have been damaged from different hurricanes that have impacted the area! One of my favorites is the Tin Man and Toto.

We are a family friendly fishing pier. We offer rod rentals, bait, cold drinks, sno cones, wine, cold beer, margaritas, snacks, pizza, hot dogs, gifts, and lots of fun. In addition to having a pier for fishing, we also have an observation deck for those who dont want to fish, but want to sit above the water and enjoy the cool breeze of the Gulf of Mexico.
I took my kiddos here a few times throughout the week. We loved just being able to purchase some snacks and watch fishing and the sunset from the top deck. It was great! Highly recommend!

Great place to learn about coastal biology in the area and the research that is being conducted there.

This 1890 courthouse is downtown Victoria, directly across the street from a lovely town park. While the courthouse itself is worthy of a stop if you like historic buildings, there are lots of historic buildings nearby. And near is a wonderful mural of old buildings.

We spent a few hours enjoying the water splash pad and then a long time admiring the model train exhibits in the old time station, the volunteers in the station are extremely friendly and go out of their way to share their knowledge about the historic train station's artifacts on display. Tomball station is also very kid and dog friendly.
