Beautifully manicured gardens set next to a 12th century Augustine monastery.
This walk to the sea is very beautiful and was built using stones from a 14th (?) century french monastery.

classic anglican architecture, nice quiet place to rest and contemplate, enjoy the organ music and examine the stain glass windows.

A lovely spot away from the hustle and bustle of Atlantis on the way to the Ocean Club Golf Course and very close to The Ocean Club hotel. Worth a walk around the place and down to the water.

This commercial district is Nassau's busiest street and is full of interesting shops and restaurants.
If your vacation stay is in or near Nassau, you'll have time to explore the downtown Bahamian culture, museum, library, government buildings, food, entertainment, local craft and retail shopping on and around Bay Street. If your visit is a stop off of the cruise ship, this can't all be done in one day, unfortunately (so you'll have to choose your battles carefully!) A highlight for me is shopping at Effy - there are 3 stores on Bay Street. Yes, yes, I haven't forgotten that the gorgeous turquoise water of the Caribbean is the REAL jewel. But if you're interested in fine jewelry, try to research Effy Co. & designer before you travel. You really can go in "just to look", there's no high pressure, the staff is professional. You feel comfortable and don't have to rush. Hitesh P. works at the 3rd store closest to the wharf. What I admire about Hitesh is that he truly enjoys sharing his knowledge of gemology to educate others. There are a multitude of personalities to experience up & down Bay Street. And they are not all Bahamian... When I read reviews about what other travelers think & feel about their encounters, I have to smile. I'd love to end my day at a Bahamian family's dinner table listening to what they encountered with the travelers!
