I lived in Lucknow, and I completed my bechlor degree from Lucknow University, it is situated near Gomti river bank,and it's architecture belongs to British and traditional style. In Lucknow University also have a private play ground and a hostel for students who came to study here, now everyone known that Lucknow is h metro city, so there is a nearest metro station opposite the Lucknow University named as Lucknow University metro station.so you can go to visit easily from Chaudhary Charan Singh airport Lucknow to Lucknow University. U must come here to experience British and nawabee tehzeeb together.. thankyou.

Husainabad Clock tower is right in the front of Bara Imam. This is very big and nice. It was constructed by Nawa Nasir-ud-din Haider to mark the arrival of Sir George Couper, 1st Lieutenant Governor of United Province of Avadh.

From the Bara Imambara, we hopped onto a tanga, & made our way to the Rumi Darwaza. Our excitement was doubled with our first horse carriage ride & the grand gateway ahead of us. The Rumi Darwaza is a gateway built under the patronage of the same Nawab & in the same year as the Bara Imambara. The front facade is a fine, fine example of Awadhi architecture! As it's an operational gateway, you've to be careful of traffic. There's no ticket to see the Rumi Darwaza.
