De Oldehove is an unfinished church tower in the medieval centre of the Dutch city of Leeuwarden. It leans more than the tower of Pisa in Italy. Open for visits from mid April till end of October.
This very beautiful, old tower is quite leaning, but that also gives it an extra charm. In 1595 the accompanying church collapsed, since then the tower stands alone. When the tower was only ten meters high it already started to subside! The tower can be visited with a local guide.

This building is dominating the Wilhelminaplein, straight in the centre of the city. The building is very well restored and a pearl of the square. Around the square is the leisure area and shopping area of Leeuwarden, a place that is worthwhile to visit.

We went to see all of the 10 fountains installed for the European Year of Culture (Dokkum wasn't finished). Most of them were really interesting, some were beautiful, some were clever, some weird and one really hideous. It was a really intriguing idea and will leave a legacy for Friesland for years to come. Our favourites were Harlingen (Whale), IJlst (Japanese flowers) and Hinderlopen (The Tree of Life).
