One of the must sightseeing places in jaipur trip. Easy to reach here via cab or any other transportation as well. Beautiful architecture, soulful rhythm of aarti in morning & evening and surrounding area adds a good reason to visit this temple.

Saw this way back in December when I visited the Amber fort. It's one of the many magnificent gates in the courtyard and named after the Hindu god Ganesh and is the entry into what was originally the private palaces of the Maharajas of Amer.

I had read about the amazing stepwells of Rajasthan- but these go way beyond any written description. Truly something to see - incredible architectural fete and a brilliant concept used in the past to gather water. As the water level dropped, you would simply walk down to the next level. Used in the past for both water and social gatherings.

This is an extensive and interesting collection of astrological instruments which is best visited on a sunny day. A guide is essential to demonstrate the various sundials and explain how they tell the time, with impressive accuracy. The positioning of the various constellations of the zodiac also needs some explanation!
