This legendary pond inside the inner courtyard at Tirta Empul temple is said to have magical healing powers. Pura Tirta Empul or The Temple of Holy water is located about 20 km northeast of Ubud. The temples name comes from the the sacred spring that flows at the temple.
Such a stunning place! We joined in the water and learned about the ritual from the locals! Change rooms and lockers are available for a small fee. Parking also costs a small amount. We did not take photos here since people are performing a ritual, and it would have been inappropriate.

See Indonesia in One Afternoon! Taman Nusa is a cultural park that aims to offer a comprehensive information on the cultures of Indonesia's various ethnic groups in an attractive and interactive way, while enjoying the natural beauty of Bali.Situated on 15 hectares of land, visitors are invited to explore and experience Indonesia's journey throughout the ages beginning from the prehistory, bronze age, kingdoms, and an archipelago of Indonesian cultures. The journey continues to the early national era, independence, modern times and finally to the nation's future.
Wonderful collection of Indonesian houses from different island. Over 60 different original building to have a look for all the culture of this country. 50% of houses are heavy damaged and it is no t possible to go inside anymore. But even this situation that place is MUST visit! Due to pandemy most activities are closed. Ticket price goes down from 350k IDR to 200k IDR and 85k for locals. Price looks little bit high, but if you can go - it worth it. Inside only 3 people near the houses. From Papua, Sumbawa and Sulawesi. They will explain you about their work and traditional arts if you ask them. Aslo nice mini-copy of borobudur temple. If you will go on weekdays you have huge chanse that you will be alon in this place - no other visitors. With the ticket you will get free-drink coupon that you can use in the end of the street with houses. From the cafe you have amazing view to the forest and river. For all way you will need not less than 2 hours if not hurry. We not reccomend to use wooden bridges - they looks not to strong enough to use them safe(but we had and was ok, just be careful). Anyway this is hidden diamond on the side of the road. Hope it will be renovated in the future.

We kept admiring the view from the hotel we stayed at and managed to find a way down some cobbled steps to follow this trail, its so peaceful and picturesque and you can actually walk into the centre from here, lots of opportunities to take some beautiful photos and meet the locals, always a plus when you can stop and listen to their stories. A lovely stream to follow although the paths can be very narrow at times lots of ducks and other species around, just a lovely leisurely stroll with the camera and if you forget your water there is always Nayoman the coconut man and his wife to stop and have a drink and a chat wonderful man......Wonderful couple..... thoroughly enjoyed our stroll

At first glance Pondok Bambu Music looks like any other shop in Ubud but enter the puppet master and his assistants and you’re transported to another world. The story is complicated: there’s a princess, a war, monkeys, soldiers and then there’s the puppets master’s brilliant artistic freedom. He switches between Balinese and English and totally unexpectedly there’s men arguing about taxi fair, a soldier doing push-ups and another one speaking monkey. As we were the only ones in the house we were allowed backstage while the show was in progress and allowed to witness the truly amazing art of shadow puppets.
