Right on the border between Spain and France is an unassuming yet moving memorial to the heartbreak of exile. We read it, walked it - you walk down steps to a glass wall that gives you a view of what "flee-ers" would have seen and then visited the cemetery - wide open to all - nearby.

Its a very beautiful small medieval town. Very enjoyable to ramble around, plenty of small shops selling souvenirs, wine, clothes etc. There is also a few bars and restaurants.

La Cala s'Alguer is a little and tiny beach located in the surroundings of Palamós, a city in Costa Brava Region, in the North of Catalonia. It is located in the coastal path around this beautiful region and probably it is located in the most beautiful pathway in this region. Really, walking around these places is very nice and seeing this tiny beach is incredible: some little fisher houses only less than 5 meters far from the sea. Having a house here would be incredible! heard the sound of sea and the wind in winter days is a magic moment. Salut i cuideu-vos! (See also La Fosca Beach, Platja de Castell and Chemin de Ronde)

A memorial dedicated to those who between January and February 1939 crossed the border into France fleeing the terror of Francoism. Monoliths and stands installed at this point give information and show images of the exiled population. This point also provides magnificent views of the coastline.

This was such a thrill for me to see. I love history and this castle does not disappoint. The views are absolutely breath-taking.
