Amarillo is the perfect place to get a big taste of Texas even if you only have a small amount of time. From canyons to old Cadillacs and gigantic steaks to grand scenery, the city is an Old West enthusiast's dream. One of the country's best collections of Western art and artifacts can be found at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. Mosey on over to the Amarillo Livestock Auction to mingle with real cowboys as they go about the business of buying and selling cattle. For those with interests that are more modern, the city boasts a great art museum and beautiful botanical gardens. If you're traveling with kids, don't miss the thrilling rides at Wonderland Park. The whole family will be in awe of the fantastic rock formations at Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

This art Installation has been on my radar for decades and at last we drove to see it in all its glory. It’s all that. Brilliant. Bravo. Meaningful. And so needed in today’s lackluster art world. Go. Today. Make a date.

Outdoor photo opportunity for those in love with trains. Just down the road from the Civic Center and Embassy Suites. Filled with history, this a free fun stop downtown.

My family and I most definitely enjoyed the visit to the Texas Panhandle War Memorial. We were welcomed with open arms, very friendly and the museum is most definitely a sight to see. It's a great place to visit in which to reflect our freedoms and to honor our brothers and sisters in arm that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms and our nation. I most definitely recommend visiting, there are many historical artifacts to see, friendly and welcoming staff as well as a gift shop. 12/29

This offbeat roadside attraction features 10 graffiti-covered Cadillacs standing upright in a row, buried nose-first in the ground. The sculpture is the brainchild of Amarillo millionaire Stanley Marsh III, who chose classics dating from 1948 to 1963, the "Golden Age" of the American automobile.
Must see!! Historical landmark art form decades old Let your encouraged to bring your own spray can , And add your own touch!

Each Tuesday, country western performers gather at the Big Texan Steak Ranch to perform for restaurant patrons.
We had ribeye, prime rib, mountain oysters and entertainment. Enjoyable lunch with a wonderful waitress Shawna E!! We definitely be back!

Interesting little photo opportunity so stop by and take a selfie! The RV park has a few cars on ramps and the cowboy to take some pics of. Worth a short selfie stop!
